Alternatives to Barbie

Hi, I am looking for some advice on fashion dolls for a 4 year old. I have bought my daughter a fashion dollshouse for her birthday and now need to get some dolls to go with it. The house is 3 storys high and takes an average size doll (9 inches-13 inches), ie your barbie equivalent. I am not a big fan of barbie as she seems so 'grown up'. Can anyone suggest any alternatives please?

Thanks again, these dolls are all so much nicer than barbie with her pointy boobs!
Califrau, it's me from the US thread so I can get the Only Hearts Club dolls. They look brilliant and the horse stable etc looks fab, DD has just started pony riding so this addition to her dolls house is a very likely Christmas present. Thanks everyone .

Alternatives to Barbie may include the following -

Meccano
Lego
Action Man
Fighting
Torturing small animals
Setting fire to flammable plastic girly toys
Setting fire to flammable plastic girly toys piled in a heap in the garden whilst dancing around it naked
