Pram recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a pram for a newborn? I'm very keen to have one which has a carry cot which I can detach and preferably a big shopping basket. It doesn't matter about whether it fits in a car boot, because I haven't got one. I'm deeply confused by brochures and also housebound, so i can't go out and try them. Help please!

This is dead easy then. You need a Mountain Buggy Urban with a carrycot.

By far the best quality buggy on the market today. It has a huge shopping basket, big wheels (the front one a lockable swivel) for smooth ride and an easy push for you, it turns on a sixpence. You can take it on all terrains no problem. The seat unit lays nice and flat for sleeping when you've finished with the carrycot. It also now comes in lots of colours (or nice plain black if you prefer).

It looks very simple because it is. There are no fiddly plasticky bits to break off.

The buggy and the carrycot come with top quality raincovers in the price (many many prams come with raincovers at extra cost).
You also get any option with the buggy to have either a car seat adaptor or a UV sun bug mesh cover for the summer.

Hope this helps.

Listen to Teaandcake, she's talking complete sense

Another vote for the Mountain Buggy Urban...

I had a look on the internet and it seems quite expensive. Is it or have I just been looking at duff sites? Oh god! now I feel like a complete cheapskate.

Silvercross 3D is light & suitable from birth. Try e-bay shops approx £188- £260 but they retail £280++ in mothercare etc.

Mt Buggy isn't cheap, around £350 new.

The carrycot is expensive at around £120 but you can get a 2nd hand one for about £50 - much better idea cos they aren't in it for that long
