going to a party - thought would be handy to have him in a sling rather than holding him

but not sure how much use we'd get from it?

wanted one for tomorrow, so posting today no good

the crotch thing - is it supposed to be comfot-wise for the baby, or safety?

would only be using it occasionally, for short durations

I think it is just less comfortable than other carriers for both you and the baby.

I'm sure it would be fine for short periods but if you end up wanting to wear him more frequently, you would really benefit from a more comfortable sling.

Got to dash...have fun shopping

Tutter, for the money you will spend on a babybjorn and the length of time you will find it useful, it will be quite a waste of money, i'm afraid.

there are a few UK based sling sellers and makers in the UK who you can contact today (by phone) and you could probably meet them up tomorrow to get one (depending where you are geographically.)

Are you in the SE?

pastilla · 15/09/2007 15:14

hi babieseverywhere (wave), are you in the bolton babywearers group?

BabiesEverywhere · 15/09/2007 15:17

I am, I'll see you on Monday ;)

MerlinsBeard · 15/09/2007 15:25

i would like to add the other view...i LOVED my baby bjorn! Used it until ds2 was about 9 months before it became a prob comfrt wise. He was in it from about 5 weeks taking DS1 to playgroup amd nipping round the shops. Will be using it again when this one is born - unless someone gives me a nice, sturdy ring/wrap one that is

MrsBadger · 15/09/2007 15:56

tutts

if you can face driving to Ab you can borrow my wrap

have parents coming tomorrow or would offer to drop it off

GreebosWhiskers · 15/09/2007 16:06

If you can get hold of a couple of metres of fleece fabric you can make your own no-sew mei tai in about 10 minutes

Tutter · 15/09/2007 16:57

thanks but was silent as on trip to mothercare

feck all choice so had to go for the bb

will try it out tomorrow and report back (seems ok now after half an hour or so...)

I'll second mumof monsters. We have the new BB (the £70 one - present) and I have to say it's been a huge success. We both use it all the time - walks, tesco, watering the garden, going round town on a saturday when a pram is a nightmare, allsorts1 DD is no lightweight and at 5 months is pushing 18lbs, so getting harder for me to carry her for long periods - that just may be my weak shoulders though!? DH still manages fine.

I totally understand and appreciate the philosophy of the wraps and pouch types, but they just weren't me - or my DH so the BB had proved invaluable.x
