Best sling/child backpack for holiday?

My daughter will be 22 months when we go to Malaysia for a 2 week holiday. She is more than capable of walking most places but we don't really want to take a buggy - more like a backpack or sling or something to carry her around in when she gets tired etc.. |Any ideas?

hi kiski, am quite good at the bouncing and the tying.

i do need to get dd tighter in it's true, bit of practice required there i think.

mainly i just feel like the shoulder straps are about to slip off and i'm always leaning forward a little to compensate or hitching them up constantly.

the chest strap on the Ergo seems to do a good job of countering this.

You can finish the mei tai off with a tiberian finish, which forms a chest strap with the long straps of the mei tai.

Very comfortable for me of the big boobs

tiberian tie?

tell me more!

i've tried to pull the MT straps thru but am probably not doing it right....

redtent · 16/09/2007 20:55

or alternatively use a small scarf as a chest strap.....

I tie tibetan with a wrap and with a MT that has XL straps.that works fine with me at a 38 dd and a size 16/8. if you searched tibetan at tbw......

Paddlechick, I picked up the cwtshi from teh post office this am. keen to try it out. It seems smaller!

Paddlechick666 · 19/09/2007 10:38

oh good! hope you have fun with it. it's definately smaller!

any advice on this tibetan/tiberian tie? i've done some searches but not coming up with much!

kiskidee · 19/09/2007 10:50

i have seen youtube videos with making a chest strap out of the long ends. will link later - when i get home. poss late tonight.

kiskidee · 19/09/2007 17:50

here is a link with a wrap sling doing the tibetan tie. should not be difficult to adapt to a MT.

kiskidee · 19/09/2007 17:53

here is another tibetan tie

I find that doing the 'lexie twist' brings dd really snug against my chest or back. i also cheat by just taking it behind her back and then tying it around my middle as the lower straps of the MT are already securing her.

kiskidee · 19/09/2007 19:08

the lexie twist seems to help me bring dd closer to me before i tie so it makes it less easy for the shoulders to slip off.

Hello,

You are probably back by now but here goes anyway...

Take a pushchair! Get a velo - they weigh very little. It's boiling in Malaysia, you'll be out a lot. You'll want your kid to sleep so you can sit in cafes (probably) or try on clothes.

I went with a baby and I toyed with the idea of a carrier but was so pleased I decided to take a pushchair.

As far as carriers go though, I highly recommend Yamo.

Have a ball, or I hope you already did.
