Best baby sleep pods? Please advise!

I found this baby sleep pod online today and am wondering if anyone has any advice about baby sleep pods in general or this one in particular? I bought the Clevamama cot mattress, which was very expensive, and was thinking of getting this too for while baby's sleeping in the bed with me for the first few months. (Will be BF'ing) It is a bit expensive though and apparently baby will grow out of the newborn one within three months or so, then you need to upgrade in size. Any advice welcome about baby sleeping pods. It's been a while since I did this!

Sleep pods with raised sides are not recommended for unsupervised sleeping

Thank you @dementedpixie. Do you know of any similar products that are recommended for unsupervised sleeping?

Babies shouldn't be put in anything like that for unsupervised sleeping. Have a read of lullaby trust/la leche league website etc for safe Co sleeping advice.

Seconding PP, nothing like that is safe for your baby. Flat, firm mattress with no bumpers, blankets, toys etc.

Nope nope nope

When my daughter was admitted to hospital at 3 months old the nurses made a little sleeping pod thing for her. They rolled up a blanket in to a sausage shape and made a semi oval shape and then did same with another to complete the oval (if that makes sense). They then placed final blanket over the top and tucked in.

Probably not what your looking for but cheap and cheerful

The sleepyhead is great.

You really do have to take the guidance with a pinch of salt.

If all other risks are low (you don't smoke etc) then it is safer

None of the guidance recommend co sleeping, at yet the countries with the lowest SIDS rate co sleepHmm

As @Pentium85 has said, We used the sleepyhead! Not recommended for unsupervised sleep but we personally did. Without it my baby did not sleep unless on me and after falling asleep and waking up with my boob over his face I soon came to realise the sleepy head was MUCH safer for us than no sleep at all!

He is now 6 months and still uses it in his next to me crib... but again can't recommend it for unsupervised sleep 😴

Pentium85 · 07/04/2020 19:40

To clarify as @HT96 we used it for unsupervised sleep.

That was much safer than baby falling asleep in my arms, and then me accidentally falling asleep
