Please recommend a good (small) travel cot

We already have an OK travel cot, which we've had since DS arrived. It is quite large, though, and the mat bit is not very padded, so although it worked OK for him as a toddler, it doesn't feel right for DD. She's quite small (5 months), and would be lost in such a big travel cot.

I mainly use it at my parents', and I need a smaller one because it will have to fit into a room which also contains DS' bed now. Wld also like one with a more comfy mattress. What can you ladies recommend?

Instead of a travel cot what about a moses basket. My husband and I regularly visit his relatives who live away from us and when my son was little i used to take his moses basket. when he got to big for it i took travel cot and put cot duvet on the bottom covered with sheet tucked in under the mat.

I quite like the look of the samsonite pop up one, although it isn't very padded on the bottom. But it isn't recommended for them once they can sit up. However, I think they were going to bring out a bigger one but haven't seen it in the shops yet!

daisy and tom do a very nice lightweight travel cot for up to 18 months old - think its samsonite for £50 - its a bit of a pop up type one and is only 3.5kg

Here are some more pop-up travel cots (and a blow-up one!). Scroll down, the first one is only for tinies.

lulupop - the one i mentioned in my post is the second one down on the web page that fruitful did a link to!

What about folding a blanket up on the floor underneath, it would give a little bit more padding.

The dux is good but you can only use it till baby pulls up so about 6-7months maybe.

Brilliant links, Fruitful and Yorkiegirl, thanks so much. And thanks for everyone's suggestions. Now I just have to choose!
