Do you know who makes these cupboard safety latches?

When ds1 was tiny we fitted safety latches on some of our cupboard doors, and now need to fit more because of ds2. I used latches which fold back against the cupboard door when you open it, so you don't have a spike sticking out at child's-eye-level. Unfortunately I can't remember the manufacturer, or where I bought them, and haven't been able to find these latches again at all.

They were white, with a black elastic band which folded the hook part back on itself. Like conventional latches, they allowed the door to be opened an inch or so, and then you had to stick your finger in to unhook them before you could open the door further. But, unlike conventional latches, you released them sideways, not downwards.

Does anybody recognise these latches? Can you tell me the make, or where I can buy them?

nEver seen anything like them. Could you get magnetic childrens locks(sold in mfi) as a alternative if your worried about the spike sticking out.

this is the closes that I can find We had them (what you described) when ds1 was little.

The magnetic locks are excellent, especially when you don't want to draw LO's attention to those cupboards as there's no visible evidence of any lock. But as I want them for cupboards etc in the older ones' bedroom and playroom I don't want to have to be faffing about with keys - though I do want to keep ds2 out of their things.

Mothercare? They sound similar to what we have.

Safety First do some. B&Q have stocked them in the past. Or try Blooming Marvellous perhaps.

Not Safety First, Clippasafe, Blooming Marvellous, Mothercare, PHP, John Lewis, B&Q.

The search continues.

(You know how it always says "Keep packaging for future reference" and you think Oh yeah, ha ha ha file it under WPB I've got enough scraps of paper?)
