i "tried" a baba sling but LO seemed so slumped in it - with chin right against chest

and apprently that is very bad for breathing

so now worried did some damage to him...etc lack of oxygen

why can half the world use slings and me not!!??

am so pathetic..

anyone else have trouble putting their little one in a sling!!??

anyone else have their little one slump chin to chest??

...even though mine was slumped I must hasten to add...he immediately fell asleep when i was trying the sling - therefore I assumed he was comfy and ok in it - but apparently not....as slumping is bad!!

argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dd 'slumps' like this in a pouch sling but she can still breathe fine, though because it only goes on one shoulder it's not wildly comfy for the wearer so she's never in it for long.

Wrap-type sling with dd upright thus is much comfier for me and her.

bumbly, if you would like to try a wrap sling before you buy one, I have one you can have. I can also link a video which would show you how to use it. In fact, i have already linked it in your thread in 'behaviour and development' (How do you put a newborn to sleep - or something like that)

It is so much easier to have a sling friendly mum to show you how to use a sling in person...
Try www.slingmeet.co.uk/ or www.thebabywearer.com to find local mums.

Where abouts are you in the country I know a couple of sling groups, depending on where you are ?
