Why is Slime not banned?

Hello all, I'm so confused by why it's still being sold. Not just in the UK but everywhere? My little ones love slime (they watch videos of people on you tube of people playing with it 🙄😊) but they don't have any of their own as after alot of research all I can find are warnings from Which and awful stories about children having burns from the boron and other chemicals it all contains. Yes you could have your child wear gloves but you shouldn't have to do that plus if a child ingested some it could really have serious results but if it's so harmful can anyone tell me why all slime products have not been pulled from the shelves? I've also researched home recipes for making slime but even all these have many reviews and stories about children being hurt by the chemicals used to make the slime stretchy. Some of the chemicals apparently could even cause infertility if ingested?! I know most kids would haven't a taste but some would if they got a chance out of curiosity or if they have sensory issues like one of mine does as she's Autistic. My children often ask for slime kits so I'm always saying no as I believe it to be dangerous. They're very good about me saying no but don't really get it as if it's so dangerous why can you buy it still? Please look at the Which and other reviews about slime if you haven't already and let me know your thoughts, maybe the government or companies making this stuff won't act to change ingredients or ban it until there is a tragedy, I've found a couple of slime products online that meet legal standards but only just, so why is it legal to sell Slime if its so dangerous?

Because parents exist ?

My friend makes it herself. I'm sure she uses pva glue, starch and water.
I do agree with you though why are the ones with toxics in them for sale? It doesn't seem to make any sense.

I agree. Apparently, some types of slime are also believed to take a horrendously long time to biodegrade. DD is not allowed it. I suspect many children are inherently fascinated by weird textures, though, & this is the basic reason why it's so popular. Similar to those wobbly squeezy balls that look like a soft sea urchin. Weird texture.
