We have a PHILIPS DVDR 80 it is a DVD recorder, it is brilliant it will search for a programme and tell you which number disc it is on. It has a guide plus system to set the recording by.

You can also record from video camera etc.

The only downside is when you want to record instantly it takes a few sec to read the disc.

You can also set it for satalite or didgi box or cable channels.

There is also a DVDR 70 but is a lower spec.

DH got it for me for christmas last year I chose it btw.

AQ... we've just bought an LG multiregion DVD&video combined for around £100. Our reasoning was that we still have a lot of videos (such as our wedding video) that we would want to see. Plus the DVD recorders were just a little bit beyond our reach financially.

It should arrive in the next few days. LG have a good reputation for video & dvd players. I'll let you know how we get on.

About £300+++ I think, but they are bound to be cheaper now.

It came from Argos it uses the DVD + system, you can record at different speeds I use the x8 one which makes one disc last 8 hours and because of the menu system you can delete the 2nd programme while leaving the 1st and 3rd in place it tells you how much time is there left IYSWIM
