Hiya I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and trying to do some research on what bottles to buy. Anyone have any advice on which bottles are the best? Thanks x

Dr brown were good for us

YappityYapYap · 22/12/2019 17:40

MAM are quite good and self sterlise. Dr Browns too as PP said. I think tommee tippee bottles are ok as well but maybe better 6+ months when there's less chance of colic and wind

hairyxmasturkey · 22/12/2019 17:41

Most people I know swear by mam. Much easier to clean than lots of anti colic ones. You can also sterilise them in the microwave so if you didn't want to buy a steriliser you don't need to- if not handy when you are on hols etc. I thought they were brilliant

Willow4987 · 22/12/2019 17:42

We only used tommee tippee as we got one of those starter sets so sort of just carried on
We did use the anti colic ones for the first few months but I know a lot of people swear by dr browns

Charlie199 · 22/12/2019 17:42

Thank you guys. There so many different ones on the market I don't even know where to start 😂

Have you considered breast feeding?

MAM bottles were good for us. Tommy Tippee awful.

Charlie199 · 22/12/2019 17:51

Yes I have, but for personal reasons I cannot breastfeed.

We used nuby bottles, was only ones DD was able to latch

MuchTooTired · 22/12/2019 18:12

We used tommee tipee for about two weeks then switched to dr browns due to colic. They’re brilliant, and lasted until my DTs gave up bottles at one year.

user32564567 · 22/12/2019 18:16

7 posts in before the breastfeeding post.

She didn't ask for your opinion on her feeding choice.

melissasummerfield · 22/12/2019 18:24

@ Selfsettling3 congrats, under 10 minutes Hmm

I used tommee tippee, both anti colic and normal and thought they were great.

Don’t justify your choices to anyone on here OP Smile

HappyGirl86 · 22/12/2019 18:30

The MAM anti colic ones are good and you can sterilise them on their own if needed which is always useful!

AnAngryElf · 22/12/2019 18:31

MAM are amazing👍😊I love their dummies too. Congratulations!

Charlie199 · 22/12/2019 19:56

Thank you everyone for your advice this is my second baby but I had my 1st when I was very young 10years ago. I feel like I'm pregnant for the first time so many things have changed.
Everyone has their opinions on breast or bottle, makes me sad that people put such pressure on the choice but sometimes for some women it's not a choice they can make, some women just can breast feed X

DC1 happy with Avent teats, DC2 settled on MAM (on the Avent bottles).

MrsS92 · 22/12/2019 20:03

Dr browns bottles were great for DD, keep an eye out in boots clearance if you have a boots local, we managed to get loads of dr browns bottles really cheap in there.

Selfsettling3 · 22/12/2019 20:07

user32564567 would you show we where I gave my opinion on breast feeding? Rereading my post I can only see my opinion on bottles and a question about breast feeding.

melissasummerfield I haven’t asked anyone to justify how they feed and why. Lots of people don’t consider breast feeding in early pregnancy but then think about it. The OP has only known she has been pregnant for 3 weeks so it’s quiet feasible that she just hadn’t given feeding much thought.

Charlie199 I hope I didn’t offend you and I guess you would have worked out from by post that bottle feed one of my children. First ff and second bf. Different things work for different families and different children.

I only have a 3 year gap but I thought I wouldn’t remember things but I just seemed to remember lots of stuff.

I loved the perfect prep for bottle feed. There were a few scare stories about them but outcome of research seemed to be they were fine as lung as you followed the cleaning instructions.
