Whats the name of that thingy which props children up against the kitchen worktop?

...that doens't make any sense does it!

Ages ago, I saw something looking like a bar stool with a box around it which children can stand on/in and which you push against the worktop so they can help you without you worrying they will fall off....

Thought it was a bit over the top when I first saw it but now that DD is a little older I'd love to take another look.

What the hell is it called and who makes it?

Thanks!

think its made by adventure buggy company

lemonaid · 24/08/2007 13:38

It was a somethingpod, I think. But not sure what the "something" might be. It ought to be in archived messages somewhere.

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:38

Fun Pod.

See my profile, it's on my fav thread. You have to search about a third of the way up for the link.

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:39

or I guess you could just google fun pod. That would probably be faster.

charliecat · 24/08/2007 13:40

Get a chair, tell dd to stand still or she will fall off.
Put the hundred quid in an isa.

Skribble · 24/08/2007 13:40

Sorry but Hmm scoff

lemonaid · 24/08/2007 13:40

I have to admit, when DS stands on a chair to help in the kitchen and nearly falls off/overbalances I have occasionally wondered if it was such a bad idea after all. But I still wouldn't.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2007 13:41

I bought a funpod last week (kiddicare sell them).

There, I said it. I'm out and proud .

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:43

Oh you have to watch the 'film' on the fun pod web site. I had tears streaming down my face when I saw it the first time.

popeye, do what charliecat says....at some point or other children have to learn that fart arsing about on a chair will invoke the powers of gravity.

charliecat · 24/08/2007 13:43

"Mum can you get me down now, im bored."
"I cant my hands are covered in flour"
"muuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm Im bored"..
HOLD ON A MINUTE

Skribble · 24/08/2007 13:44

Letten stool £4.99.

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:45

Cantsleep, you didn't really did you?

Well how's your fun pod working out? And does it come with a lid so it can be transformed into the ultimate norty step.

charliecat · 24/08/2007 13:45

Skribble very good, but wheres the walls?

popeye123 · 24/08/2007 13:45

Oh dear - is it really that bad..?

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:46

lol Skribble that is a soap dish. Are you a family of borrowers?

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:47

ahh sorry had to scroll downa bit. Nice step

charliecat · 24/08/2007 13:49

It really IS that bad. Honestly, nice sturdy chair, You are a big girl now and you must be very careful up here on this big chair.
Well Done...sorted. Life lesson learnt. Cotton Wool Off.
Before you know it she will be making you toast, climbling up the side using the washing machine door to get up to it

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2007 13:49

Skribble - that stool isn't tall enough for my dd - she's only 18 months!

Yes, I really did. And I have to say that dd (and therefore I) rather like it. She normally insists on me holding her when I'm preparing food or cooking, which is blummin difficult, but now she goes in that and I once again have 2 hands.

Skribble · 24/08/2007 13:53

Must be nice to have a kitchen big enough to accomodate that its bad enough trying to make breakfast with a movible child in the room never mind an immobile one in a farking packing crate.

Slubberdegullion · 24/08/2007 13:54

What are you going to do with it when it is surplus to requirements...isn't it rather....big?

lid? (please let there be a lid)?

Skribble · 24/08/2007 13:55

This is fantastic, keeps them safe and sound.

popeye123 · 24/08/2007 13:56

Thank you ladies for saving me £100 and the many looks of bewilderment from my friends.

You can buy a lid to make it into a chopping board apparently, but we haven't. I already have a big island in my kitchen, so the last thing I need is a mobile chopping board.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2007 13:58

Link doesn't work Skribble.

Go on popeye - get one and we can have our own little clique.
