Is Dp having me on? Talk to me about hi def tv's please!

Dp claims he can only play his xbox 360 on a hi def tv and they are £500, I dont mind him having £200 for a tv so he can play his xbox but im no good with these things, please can you give me some advice?

Can you buy hi def tv's that are not flat screen therefore cheaper?

DH says he is having you on.

My DH used to play his 360 on a bulk standard old TV, so I think he is having you on !

He's having you on. Dh has an xbox 360 and our tv isn't hi def.

DS plays his xbox 360 on a standard 14 inch television. NO doubt it would be even more realistic on Hi Def but as long as the TV has modern sockets, it will work OK.

He's having you on (or could just be misinformed). The lovely caretaker at DS1's school promised his grandchildren (all 3 of them) an xbox each......went to find out costs and nearly fainted - especially when the man in the shop told him "you'll need a HD Tv too" (3 grandchildren one with each of his own children so not even the "option" of them sharing one).

However on doing his research (and talking to my DH) he found that he didn't need one.

My brother brought his 360 round and played on it on our HD flat screen, TBH I didn't see a difference..

The tv we have now is only 5yrs old and cost us £800! So i dont really want to spend £500 onm another tv when that one works fine.

He is saying the picture quality isnt as good, you cant see the players on fifa, please people help me out here.

DH (computer geek) had to play his on a very old portable in our bedroom and it work fine.

I have to this was because i refused to watch my programme onit.

He is still arguing about it, please can you all tell him how ridiculous he is being please?

There are other things we need much more like a sofa, dining table etc please can you attempt to talk sense into him !

He is being ridiculous. If he wants to ogle footballers in graphic detail he can watch a match.

Alternatively, you could get the new telly BUT every evening he'll have to get down on all fours while you strap a board to his back and use him as a dining table. That sounds fair...

He appears to be using "need" in the same sense that DS (2.7) does...

"I need some chocolate milk, mummy"

"I need to bounce on the bed, mummy"

Perhaps you could suggest that he starts to sell some of his stuff (junk) to raise that money needed as you do not want any debt.

Tell him he can't have an xbox 360 and he'll have to have a Wii instead.... then nick the Wii for yourself

LMG = the picture quality isn't as good - in the sense that the picture on your "standard" television while watching CBeebies isn't as good as if you were watching it on HD

My hubby has an xbox and wouldnt consider playing it on a tv that wasnt high def. On the graphic hungry games you can see a difference i'll grudgingly admit.

However i'm fussy over certain things like handbags lol so cant complain.

Shop around, you can get a 32" hd tv for less than £500 - ive seen them on offer for around £350.

We have come to a compromise, if you buy a phone which i need anyway for £170 and £35 a mth (500 mins and 500 txts) you get the tv free, i pay £35 for the phone i have now anyway so really i gte a new phone (mine is rubbish, you cant hear a thing unless its on loud speaker) and a tv for £170 - Bargain!
