Organised Mum Diary - Tempted

I'm really tempted by one of these. Do they make organising things easier. DS starts school soon so I was going to treat myself to a diary to try to keep track of things. Any opinions about it welcomed.

1dilemma... may I ask which one are you getting this year? Just to make a note for next time...

1dilemma · 19/08/2007 21:55

Hi
I have my eye on a Boynton one on Amazon, going to ask my sister to get it for us she loves Amazon!!

MrsMuddle · 19/08/2007 22:36

I've asked this before, but not got an answer. Do they actually say "organised mum" on them? If I buy one with a leather cover, is there any "organised mum" embossing on the leather? I really need to know - my friends would piss themselves laughing if they saw organised mum on it, because I am SO not an OM.

Spidermama · 19/08/2007 22:49

This thread is so camp.
It's reminding me of Penelope Keith and a friend of mine who actually owns a pair of grape scissors.

purpleturtle · 19/08/2007 22:52

My black leather cover is absolutely plain, so no-one knows what's in there.

purpleturtle · 19/08/2007 22:53

I had a very lovely time putting birthday stickers through my new lifebook the other day.

And yes, I know I am very sad. And I don't care.

mummymagic · 19/08/2007 23:17

OMG I want one.

Just told dh to get me one for my birthday. He is incredulous.

But... but... it has stickers and to do lists.

Forget that I haven't looked at my Birthday Organiser since Christmas. I still want one and am SURE this will be the one to make me Organised.

MrsMuddle · 20/08/2007 20:43

Thanks, purpleturtle. I'm going to get one now that I know I won't be identified in any way!

amidaiwish · 20/08/2007 21:55

if you get them here and enter my code at the checkout: KF1ZZ140, then you get free P&P and i get commission

MerlinsBeard · 20/08/2007 21:57

amidaiwish, i havenl;t yet rea dthe whole thread but i think cod is the one to go to for organised mum- sorry!she can lock you in jail and everything you know

can you get organised mum inserts for filofax? I have a lovely small filofax that cost lots in support of breastcancer and don't want to get rid of it

MerlinsBeard · 20/08/2007 22:01

oh no i just looked!

i am loving the organiser for the fridge

MrsMuddle · 20/08/2007 22:14

amidaiwish, I've used Cod's link. Yours didn't seem to have the lovely leather cover. Sorry.

Sixofone · 10/09/2007 23:04

I've just ordered a pocket one and a home planner; I used Cod's link but it didn't say anywhere 'Thank you for funding Cod's shoe fetish' so how do I know Cod will get her commission?

Kaloo20 · 10/09/2007 23:15

sorry ladies, am I missing something here ... surely adults don't need stickers to remind them of DC's activities. Sticking in stickers doesn't make you more organised than writing it down - it simply is a distraction technique so you haven't got time left to be organised !

Come on ... its a gimmick

puff · 10/09/2007 23:19

The google calendar looks brill

I've given up on my organised mum calendar, it can't cope anymore. I bought but never used the diary. My old filofax was better as a paper based track of stuff.

Vinegar · 11/09/2007 09:47

I bought the diary and thought it was a bit of a waste, especially as I had also got the calendar. There just wasn't enough time to write & stick little stickers into both the diary and calendar

This year I might go for just the calendar, need to have a look around to see if I fancy anything else first.

JeremyVile · 11/09/2007 09:53

I had my eye on this as a Christmas present for my sister as she has a big family.
But am I right in thinking it runs September to August rather than the calendar year?

The calendar runs Sept through to the following Dec I think, JV.

When I ordered, it was free postage if you spent over £5?

JeremyVile · 11/09/2007 10:20

Oh. Not so good for xmas then.
Cheers MM.

JeremyVile · 11/09/2007 10:20

..and sixofone!!

Sixofone · 11/09/2007 10:21

Oh, I agree about it being a faff having to fill in both the diary and the calendar...

However, the calendar is more for my husband's benefit - so he can see just how busy I am and hopefully feel obliged to fill in when he's going to be away with work for the night, rather than springing it on me the night before at 11.30pm
