Well, we have so far had:

Henry all the way!!
And after 7 years of rigorous use, bumping into skirting boards, falling down the stairs and other Henry-death-defying-antics he is still going strong, and most importantly still smiling!

alibubbles · 12/08/2007 16:45

I've had my SEBO xtra4 for 6 years and not a problem with it apart from aupair running over the flex twice. She now has a HENRY to use, also brill for cleaning pout the car as the Sebo has tendancy to fall over in the upright position.

Mother has had her Sebo 7 years too.

geekgirl · 12/08/2007 16:49

another vote for Miele - ours is at least 7 years old and works just as well as it always has.
Have now also got a Roomba (robot vac)- perfect combination

pobletsmum · 12/08/2007 16:52

miele - my mum is still using one that's about 20 years old! Ours is 7 years old, and has never needed more than a change of filter (get one free in every set of bags anyway).

pobletsmum · 12/08/2007 16:54

Sorry forgot to say...DH uses Henrys (Henries?) at work and puts them through all sorts of tests(!) and they keeps going. Wouldn't have one for home though. Not sure why, just prefer my Miele. Less industrial somehow?

alibubbles · 12/08/2007 17:59

hippopotomi, that sounbds like my DS, his name is guess............H!!

lapsedrunner · 12/08/2007 18:00

SEBO

hippipotami · 12/08/2007 19:13

Ah, see, I like the industialness (is that a word?) of Henry. I figured the less complicated the item, the less can go wrong!
After all, he has superiour suction, works fab, and when he is not in use he hides in the understairs cupboard.

alibubbles -

Oh, I just reread thread - you can get a pink Henry called Hetty? Now that cannot possibly be industrial, would love to see a burly cleaner bloke pulling Hetty along the office corridor!!
Mind you, I guess cleaners are mostly women arent' they....

(hippi trails off, losing train of thought)

TooTicky · 13/08/2007 11:43

I do like the fact that Henrys (Henries?) have smily faces. Am I unduly influenced by trivialities?

You cant beat a SEBO.

WendyWeber · 13/08/2007 12:08

Another vote for Miele here

speedymama · 13/08/2007 12:54

Henry. My DTS love it!

hippipotami · 13/08/2007 17:25

Have just googled Hetty, am in lurve... look here, she is lovely

prongsinthongs · 13/08/2007 20:11

i would really recommend a miele cat and dog.......have been through two very expensive dysons and was always frustrated by its loss of suction and taking it apart....i dont actually have a cat or dog but it has a large and small turbo brush and cleans really well and stores easily....have had it for 2 years with no problems

pobletsmum · 13/08/2007 21:45

'Which?' website has all 7 of the Miele vacuum cleaners that they tested as best buys. Can't be bad!
