I'm guessing it doesn't come already assembled as I seem to remember a company offering an 'assembly service'... not the one I bought it from though It's the explorer basic one in the pic it has a green tent on it we have the slide bit too. Is it going to be a freakin' nightmare to put together?

Well DH and I managed it so it really can't be that difficult

DANCESwithDumbledore · 06/08/2007 22:06

How long did it take you?

My dh put ours together and it only took about an hour and a half and he said it was really easy.

DANCESwithDumbledore · 06/08/2007 22:09

That's not too bad!

Yes, I built ours all by myself . DH injured his foot the day before so I had to do it all on my own. It took a fair amount of time but the only bit I couldn't manage by myself was attaching the slide. DH had to hobble out and help with that bit. I don't remember it being any worse than most flat-pack furniture.

And he didn't swear once!!

debgronow · 06/08/2007 22:12

my dh did ours about 6 years ago its the swing set with the slide attached its still standing!!

isaidno · 06/08/2007 22:15

Ours is not that one but it took the FIL about 8 hours!!!

(He is the sort of man who spends an hour arranging the nuts and bolts into appropriate piles first!)

I put the Challenger one, complete with tent, toddler kit and slide together by myself the day before yesterday. I started about 10 and the kids were playing on it by 5 and I had a couple of hours break in the middle of the day. The frame and the slide aren't that tricky at all, it was the toddler bits that were fiddly so if you haven't got any of those then you'll be fine!

MORNING!! Sorry, went to bed, thanks for the replies. What tools did you need?

A spanner for 4 of the bolts. The rest of it went together with the allen key that comes with it. They use a connecta cap thing which is the cap that slots into the end of each bar with a nut type thing in it then you just line up the holes and wind the bolts in.

DANCESwithDumbledore · 07/08/2007 10:14

Those flamin allen keys...I had a blister on my thumb from building ds's bed....such soft hands you know...not used to proper work

....................

My hand was pretty tender after [pathetic woman].

Had a thought, the spanner was for the bolts on the handrails along the top of the Challenger, you may not need it for yours, if you are tooly challenged .

stealthsquiggle · 07/08/2007 14:20

Go for it. Takes about an hour. Top tip - WD40 on the tubes to get them to slide together. It's easy and the lovely people at TP will help you if you get stuck or think you are missing bits.
