Hi pupuce - thanks for e-mailing him! He just phoned 10 minutes ago to tell me he had received a message - I don't know why he didn't pick it up till now. I'll make sure he e-mails you back pronto!

pupuce · 22/09/2004 15:02

Still nothing
I am all for supporting people with small businesses (I run my own) but what does it say for his service if he can't reply to e-mails quickly?

I'm sorry he didn't reply to you sooner. Apparently he was on his own today and his engineer came in and held him up...
That'll teach me for sticking my oar in!

Can I barge in on your thread Pupuce ... can someone tell me how to reduce the size of my photos to a 6 x 4 so as I can send them off for printing. BTW, am using basic Zoombrowser which has photo record running off it. Most of my files have resolution of 1600 x 1200.

Thanks!

lulupop · 23/09/2004 13:07

Millie1, you don't need to reduce your files to 6x4. The resolution refers to the number of pixels, which can then be printed at whatever size you like. The larger the print, the more the pixellation will show. So you can just fire off your photos as they are!

You could reduce the file size by compressing them if you're sending loads, but that in turn will reduce the quality of the prints. Zoombrowser prompts you to compress resolution when you initialise the email.

I've used Bonusprint online for previous films. "Which?" recommended Colorama, although they tested high street shops, not online.

I've just tried Colorama online for some reprints and compared them with the Bonusprint versions. The quality of the Colorama ones were noticably better (sharper detailed prints) and they cost only 10p per print, + £1.99 postage. So I'd recommed Colorama.

Thanks Lulupop ... I got confused when reading the Arrowfile website and they said to reduce them to 6x4" prior to sending ... I think - now I'll go back and re-read it.
