LOL, I was going to say exactly the same as littlelapin, you 'need' both! I have a Kitchenaid and a Magimix, mostly use the Kitchenaid for cakes and bread and the Magimix for chopping, grating and pureeing tasks (it will do smoothies too but DH bought a smoothie maker as he didn't believe me) and pastry.

OF tyhe processors would you say that the cuisinart is better than the kitchen aid processor.i have been told thaey are better as have metal blades but like the look of the kitchenaid(!) and also the smaller bowls.

Kitchenaid is fab for baking. Magimix is good for cooking iyswim

Would get both if you can possibly afford to.

But I love the kitchenaid the most

Another vote for both I'm afraid - bluddy expensive for you though... On balance I use the Kitchenaid mixer more often (for cakes, biscuits, meringues etc) but I used the processor loads for baby food and it comes into its own in winter for soups. You could get a cheapo Braun handblender for smoothies etc if you don't want to shell out for 2 expensive bits of kit at once.

I do LOVE the look of my Kitchenaid mixer [shallow emoticon]

Yes i am coverting the matching mixer and processor in the black but will have to phase the purchase! Was all set to get the Kitchenaid processor until man in kitchen shop said that he thought the cuisinart one was better quality .

my mixer & food processor both gave up the ghost at the same time. it is a pain in the ass but my cakes and pastry are alot better for being made my hand. so you don't need either [lentil weaving artisan emoticon].

but at a push i would say a food processor is more practical.

i agree kitchen aids are beautiful things but are they really worth teh money?

Cuisinart all the way!

Chop veg, dice veg, slice veg.

Whizz up dips. Make breadcrumbs and chop nuts, blitz soups and make smoothies.

AND has a pastry/dough blade.

Very versatile.
