DD is 2 next month and we want to spoil her for her birthday. We've had a crappy few months and are trying to regain some normality. The problem is decided on what to get her for her brithday.
She has been imaginitive playing since she was 10 months old, love feed and playing with dolls but we have enough of them!! She love art and painting and stuff. Equally she is really into walking been ding that since 9.6months

Does anyone have any suggestions

~Does she have an easel? I got dd one for her 2nd birthday and she uses it all the time. Chalks/paints both.

For the walking, does she have a mini buggy? Dd adores hers. Also someone gave her a little toy washing machine for her bday which she plays with loads.

Sorry you have had crappy few months

Hmmm, what did DD get on her birthday???

Kitchen - nice big one by Berchet, with ovem hob, dishwasher, sink, etc. wth loads of food and plates to go with it. She also got toy kettle, toaster, etc. too.

Happy Land Train Set and tracks, and some of the other vehicles - she already has loads of that stuff anyway and plays for ages and ages with it. I think it was out where your DD came here to play.

Roller skates and helmet!!!!

Other things she had at Christmas 4 months before include, but still played with loads:

ELC keyboard on a stand with a stool
Baby Annabel
Happy Land house, hospital and farm

How about an easel?
A wooden doll's house? DD spends ages playing with one of these at our friend's house/ DH's grandad is hoping to make her one
Trampoline for the garden?
Oh, and an Aqua Draw - the thing everyone on MN keeps recommending.

Furball · 17/09/2004 11:07

What about a toy kitchen with playfood, or a shopping till with a trolley or basket and some play tins.

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 11:09

What about fancy dress stuff too if she likes imaginative play. I am hoping to get DD a wooden trunk, and going to fill it with lots of clothes, hats, scarfs and shoes, etc. as part of her Christmas box.

popsycal · 17/09/2004 11:17

Katzguk - been in ELC and the new Happy Land looks great. There is a lovely post office . the new farm and house are very sweet. And there is a great village road mat that you can lay it all out on - rather than having to use road tracks, it has places to put the buildings, and roads to drive the vehicles round. DD liked playing with the airport too.

SoupDragon · 17/09/2004 18:44

Happy Land is fabulous!!

ladywallopofcod · 17/09/2004 18:59

what about littel tikes stuff?

Paula71 · 17/09/2004 21:24

Katz I bought puzzles as part of ds twins 2nd birthday (they also got a bike and go cart to share.)

To be honest the puzzles have been constantly played with. Like your DD ds twins are mostly arty, very imaginative. What about a dolls house, they really bring out imagination. I would love to buy ds twins one (the IKEA one) but DH won't hear of it!

katzguk · 17/09/2004 21:30

dolls house is a great ideas but we've got one coming DH's first step-father made one for SIL, which had gone somewhere else in the family but at MIL funeral they offered it to us.

She loves puzzles so will add taht one to the shopping list.

My MIL arranged her B'day present before she died which was a little tikes play house which she loves.

Thanks Hula happyland stuff sounds great - does it make noises like the little people stuff?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 17/09/2004 21:33

Yes, it does.

For example (based on the ones we have, new house/farm out):

House sounds - cooker sizzling, TV flashes and plays noise, bath running water, door bell rings, toilet flushing sound

Farm - ours is based on the tractor which chugs round. As it pases each banimal "house" it does various animal sounds

Hospital - X-ray noise, herat mintor on bed, ambulance siren

The emergency vehicles and the construction vehincles all have sound effects too.

katzguk · 17/09/2004 21:37

thinks we might go for these - was tending towards the little people range but these look better

Our freind's DS had the Little People house. It's nice but TBH I found the Happy Land more substantial and less fragile looking. And ours have had some stick. LOL!

Now do a thread looking for ELC discount codes!!!

tamum · 17/09/2004 21:40

I would also second the easel idea- i got my ds one when he was two and stocked it with paint sticks, an apron, magnetic shapes (it had a magnet board on one side), coloured chalks and stuff like that. Lots of these ideas are good though

katzguk · 17/09/2004 21:43

will have to look for discount codes.

Like the easel idea will put it too DH
