A jewellery box - then she can put the rosary that someone else might get her in there!

Forestfly · 16/09/2004 10:52

I have the bubble blower on this link

zubb · 16/09/2004 10:56

ooh FF - ds2 got one of those for his christening too.
Going back to the bible idea - don't godparents usually buy them? Are you going to be the godmother?

gump · 16/09/2004 11:00

I always think a nice silver chain with a plain crucifix or cross is nice. They do childrens ones now in posh jewelery shops

aloha · 16/09/2004 11:04

FF, re your Wicca rosary, at my friend's son's christening, the vicar (by accident we assume!) asked the Godparents to renounce God and worship the Devil, and they were so stunned they assented. Absolute, mortified silence in church, until we got out and my friend said, "Was it just me, or did we just dedicate my son's soul to the devil?'

gump · 16/09/2004 11:05

LOL aloha

Forestfly · 16/09/2004 11:09

Didn't anyone laugh Aloha, thats hilarious

aloha · 16/09/2004 11:15

At first I think everyone thought we'd misheard, then we hoped the parents missed it, and then we didn't know what to say. Talk of the Christening afterwards though! I think the vicar is still oblivious.

I'm with Issymum. A really lovely set of books - all the Nisbets (5 children and It, the Phoenix and the Carpet etc) or the Narnia set or something. You could get something lovely for £30. Or just a selection of wonderful hardbacks for girls - The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Ballet Shoes, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Little House on the Prairie. What a great present, lots of taste, lots of emphasis on literacy (always appealing for a lawyer) and a chance to buy all those books that your boys won't want!

ladywallopofcod · 16/09/2004 11:41

right have been swayed by t he books idea.

they have an older ds so may have wind in t hewillows and I know they have strted listening to narnia int he car( my DB " we listen to stories in the car its really great!"
me " dur we have been doing that for 6 years!")

so may well have th e narnia books
so yes womany books please
