Emma Junga Pram

Anyone got one or know anything about them?

A colleague of DH's has offered us one that they don't need - it's a twin one apparently, but I can't find any on the net to look at. I've already got a double buggy (Kids Kargo) and it's fine but quite heavy to push, so if this one is better then obviously I'd take it!

Emmaljunga prams are supposed to be fantastic. They are quite traditional and I think they're also quite heavy (no not great if you use the car a lot). But they are fantastically well-built and cosy, fab if you do a lot of walking.

Search prob brought up nothing due to wrong spelling. List of links here

Thanks! Have found it and it looks fantastic but it does look like I'd have trouble putting it in the car...and storing it in the house somewhere!!

Can I turn it down though - it's very expensive and to get it for nothing!!

Skate could you ask for it on a trial run basis or something??? See how you get on with it

I used one and it was fabulous - so so much easier to push than any other pram I have tried, and very comfortable for children, good hood for rain/wind/sun coverage, nice big wheels, big shopping tray and etc. I can't recommend them enough, BUT it depends on your circumstance. Impossible on public transport, and I imagine impossible with a car. Wonderful if you have long walking trips. I think that the double is quite wide too... seems a shame to turn it down, but no sense in having it if you can't use it. In terms of folding, they collapse downwards towards the floor so they lower in height but not in any other dimension, IYSWIM.

Not impossible with a car. I have one too. I currently live in central london and only use it for walking. BUT, when I got it I lived in suburbia and used the car all the time. It folded down and fit in the boot of my hatchback.

They are fabulous prams and I think you would be mad to turn it down!

Hi Skate. I have a single Emmaljunga pushchair which is heavy but very comfortable for the child and nice to push. Lifting in and out of the car is awkward and I do have to take a deep beath before I lift it - it's in two pieces: the chassis and the seat. You do need to have space to store it and it would be difficult to get up and down stairs. I did have a toddler seat on mine but at 6mths when baby was sitting up, he was too near to the back of the toddler seat. I have removed the toddler seat and today bought a buggy board to try.

I have just bought a side by side buggy in a moss green from Mothercare which is very light and about £140. I think its lighter than the MacLaen and Graco side by side pushchairs. This is great for folding up and putting in back of car if that's what you need to do.

Emmaljunga have a website you can look at to compare the weights.

I have one and will be able to use it again soon
It's not as flexible as some , it is bulky but easy once you get the hang of it. In my opinion though well worth it.
DD got loads of compliments about her lovely pram and the buggy bit looks like a huge armchair!!
I LOVE mine+

Ooh, thanks for all your comments.

Are they really for twins or are they OK for a toddler and baby - DS2 is almost 2yrs and DS3 is 2 weeks.

Ilanak - so I'd be able to get it into the boot of a mondeo (hatchback)?

They are not for twins. They are really designed for a baby in the main bit and a toddler ontop. They do double ones for twims though.

I have no idea if it would fit in your car, but it did fit in my volkswagon polo.
