It's too late now to explain in detail - I'll do that tomorrow (if the effin thing lets me), but really really needed to get that off my chest before I drop kick the thing out into the street.

night then

Mine is crap still too, must phone them and cancel it!!!

newlifenewname · 06/08/2007 20:52

I have an Orange Livebox which apparently facilitates wireless connection. I'd like to see some consistent evidence of this - was thinking of switching to BT actually...

Bear · 06/08/2007 20:59

I mean until we installed it , we had a fast relatively reliable connection, but once you install the HH, BT own yo' ass. They can get their creepy claws on your connection and cap it big style (whenever they choose - Friday I had 6500 kbps IP profile, Saturday it's 3500 - not that I can get anything like that, it's max 2something when things are going well and down to the low hundreds too often for my liking), and (somehow, I know not how) cause total drops in connection, not long, but enough to cause mega-browser stalls and pages just refusing to load. No videos stream any more without corrupting themselves beyond repair, so no BBC News or You Tube for me. I pay top dollar for Option 3. Option Pee more like.

Anyway I am going on holiday before I contact them again, 'cause if I did it now in my exhausted state, I'd lose the will to live; having to explain the issues over and over and jump through their infantile hoops before they agree with me that there does seem to be something funny going on.

Rant over...for now.

Steve's big announcement tomorrow might cheer me up - if I can watch the blardy thing

OH no mine arrived today and got an engineer coming onThursday to fit it and the TV thing

PersonalClown · 06/08/2007 21:06

And this is why I didn't get the HH!
I upgraded to Option 3 and BT really pushed for me to have it. I'm so glad that I said no.
I've got a little router that sits on top of my PC tower.

PSS! FEK! A*SE!

Irony of ironies - can't stream the Quicktime 'Live' Keynote. So don't get to see Mr Jobs fluffing the Macnoscenti, with the sexy new aloominum iMacs and the iLife/iWork/.mac upgrades.

but then again, why excite myself - what would be the point of getting one of these with sub-dial up connection speeds and reliability.

BT Total Hellband sucks

I'm now in the acceptance sector of the grief cycle - to think that I've been brought this low....................: (

Well the BT engineer has turned up to install my TV and Home Hub today On hold to customer services

cece · 09/08/2007 17:34

should say has not turned up

Bear · 09/08/2007 20:05

if you get through - tell them it's a blessing in disguise and you've changed your mind. I spent most of this morning chatting to a couple of lovely Indian people, but am no further forward. The HH is now perched on a box, on a stool in the middle of the hall and my speed still fluctuates from 1500Kbps down to 100-odd, but doesn't even dream of approaching the 6.5 Meg I had before I installed the HH and which BT keep telling me I should be achieving.

GRRRRRR
