Sleep bag or sleep suit for 12m +

Dear all,
DS is now 12m and I need to look for new sleep bags for him as the Tchibo sleep bags I have are thin summer bags, and last years one's are too small.

Soooo.. I 'm thinking of maybe putting him in a sleep suit as he does like to move around a lot.

Any comments on which you found best and why?

Cheers,
BR

Thanks Galaxy,
With DS it's more that he tries to stand up and I've seen him get caught up and headbutt the bars (no of course we didn't laugh ) and I wondered if the sleep suit would stop this... may be I should get some cot bumpers.. but then they'd be too low anyway.

DS is a wriggler and there's no way on Earth to keep him warm in the night but with a Grobag, he stands and even walks wearing it which may be dangerous but the very few nights I have left him with only the sleep suit he ends up waking up when a foot gets trapped between the cot bars...

Sleeping bags always get my vote - I'm so keen on them that I've even pinned my dd into a pillowcase when it was too hot in the middle of summer to use a 'proper' sleeping bag.

A heavyweight bag is a nice luxury, but you don't really need one as you can add layers to the baby both under and over a lightweight bag. Eg, vest and sleepsuit under the bag, cardigan under or over the bag (not hooded obviously), blankets over the bag.

The sleeping bag doesn't stop them moving about, I find, but it keeps them covered and more comfortable, and prevents them getting their feet stuck in the cot bars.

bunnyrabbit - same probs withDS moving round too much in bed, has sleep bag but still manages too get it wrapped round him, or when he stands, he walks to far in it and gets stuck (usually whilst asleep!) looking for alternative at mo!!!
