Hair straighteners.....again!!
bonniej · 13/09/2004 11:17
Has anyone bought the new wet 2 straight hair straighteners by Remington. They dry your hair and straighten at the same time. I think they sound fantastic as having really curly hair I have to blow dry for half an hour and then spend another 15minutes straightening. They cost 75 pounds from Boots but I am reluctant to shell out that much money without really knowing how good they are. Anyone had any experience of these? Are they worth the money?

just a note for anyone buying hair straighteners. My hairstylist at tony and guy swears (secretly ) by some her friend bought in Wilkinsons for £15.

coddychops, good idea in theory but if I washed at night I would have to blow dry. left to dry on its own I'd have a wild birds nest to cope with by morning that I don't think even the best straighteners could deal with!

What you can do is wash the hair at night and apply John Frieda's serum, followed by product 4 to straighten hair, just comb you hair and let it dry a little before going to bed, it shouldn't be that difficult to to strighten it next morning.

my hairdresser said that wet to straight is not good for your hair - very hot heat will damage it.

Went out and bought some yesterday! Couldn't resist. It actually says that they've undergone tests by top trichologist (i think that's hair experts) who say they are a lot less damaging than conventional straighteners as they apparantly 'seal in moisture'. I'll let you know if they're any good or not, (and also if I've got any hair left or not)

I sort of have frizzy hair & wanted to buy hair straightener, most of the salons online recommend two good straighteners 1. GDH 2. T3 . After lot of research I bought T3 & I must say they are really great you can leave them on for however long & they stay on the same temperature. Once I forgot to put them off as I had to run behind my twins after 2 hours I realised in shock I had left them on & they were still perfect. only thing is they are very expensive but I was told my Tony & guy hair dresser that all the straighteners you buy for less money last a short period damaging your hair. I bought these from salononline they are gooooooooooooooooooood. Most of straighteners make your hair look flat ( trust me I have tried some B4) but with these you can flick your hair the way you want.

I have tried the wet 2 straight and I can't recommend them enough! I wish these had been invented ages ago as I absolutely hate blow drying my hair as it takes so long. I thought it would take a long time to dry your hair with these straighteners but you only have to go over a section of hair twice and it's dry. My hair has stayed completely straight even after sleeping on it all night and it feels much softer and smoother than it used to when I blow dryed and then straightened. Definately worth the money and I really feel they've helped the condition as well. (just about to spoil it again though as getting highlights done again tomorrow
