Anyone who has 4+ children, what car do you have??

We currently have a Zafira, which is fine with 3 children. But with baby due in november I am worried. DS has a wheelchair which takes space, plus a buggy, and its not all going to fit with the 6th seat up. So what car do people recommence??

you could get one of those old ticket machines they used to have on buses.

and a little driver's cap

sparklygothkat · 18/07/2007 10:47

the grand picaso isn't on the motability price list

Wendy, they are exactly the same!, have you got a Freda then? We've had ours for 3 years now and have been to 3 Bongo Bashes (yearly meetings where over 200 Bongos meet (with their drivers obviously lol).

WendyWeber · 18/07/2007 10:48

I haven't got a Bongo or a Freda

I would love one! I just think it's funny that so many people here have (or want) a Bongo and nobody has a Freda

sparklygothkat · 18/07/2007 10:49

right off now to wheelchair clinic, hope they don't give DS a huge wheelchair this time!!! Am hoping for a small sports one...

Good luck with the wheelchair then!

onlyjoking9329 · 18/07/2007 10:51

grand picaso is a new car only came out in January so might not show on the list but if you go to the dealers you can get one, i know someone else who also has one on mobility scheme.

Browny · 18/07/2007 11:01

Wendy, when we first got our Bongo, no-one had ever heard of it and burst out laughing, and to see another one on the road was a surprise! Do you know that most Bongo/Freda owners wave to each other, so we're a friendly bunch!, you don't see Ford Focus/min/other makes of car owners greeting each other like that

Enid · 18/07/2007 11:05

multipla owners do that too

freaked me out the first few times

Browny · 18/07/2007 11:18

Do they Enid? I'll look out for them now!, do you think we should wave to them too, just to confuse them?

Bibis · 18/07/2007 11:21

Sparkly

When we went away last year we put two weeks worth of kit in the box on the roof, freeing up the interior of C8 for day to day rubbish.

Thing about chrysler is that 'which magazine' doesn't rate it very highly....... Having said that I know dh would have loved to get it if the tax penalties on them weren't so high (company car).

Other advantage on C8 is that the back doors are sliding so don't have many problems about hoiking little ones in car seats in and out iyswim

Judy1234 · 18/07/2007 11:38

We had a volvo estate with 2 seta in the boot (5 children). It was very rare all 7 of us would travel together as large families with childern of different ages do tend to do separate things so that worked out fine. But you need the boot space too for the wheelchair

HermionesPatronus · 18/07/2007 12:07

we have children of separate ages and do a lot together

tuppy · 18/07/2007 16:16

We have a volvo xc90; fine for our 4 but probabbly not big enough for pram and wheelchair. On our last holiday we hired A C8 which was very roomy, 7 proper seats and sliding doors which were useful.

sparklygothkat · 18/07/2007 16:46

my kids are 9, 7 and 5, and the baby in nov. SO we still do lots together

Ours was just such a very big gap. By the time the twins were 3 or 4 their biggest sister had passed her driving test.

jeez · 19/07/2007 20:13

our gap is actually bigger than that xenia

jeez · 19/07/2007 20:13

by a few years but we still do days out etc
