As all you MNrs are so gorgeous you must be supping regularly from the fountain of youth. But, if like me, you dont have one in your area (confirmed by lack of entry in the yellow pages) do you use any creams/potions/witch doctors etc to stop the roadworks appearing around your eyes? I currently have a dual-carriageway being constructed as I type. Very depressed . Do any of those creams work? And dont recommend plastic surgery - not brave enough...... or rich enough.....

I do I do!!! I actually use Clinique All About Eyes but only cos it cost me £20. Body Shop do a brill one for about £12.

Demented · 12/09/2004 16:39

MIAM, the Bodyshop do one that I am told is quite good (I have it living the bottom of a drawer somewhere after being talked into buying it at a party), can't remember exactly what it is called but everyone else in the room was raving about it.

I use Oil of Olay, Total Effects moisturiser (although not in the "delicate eye area ") I don't know if they do an eye cream but the moisturiser is great so may be worth checking if they do an eye cream too.

jampot · 12/09/2004 16:39

and I'm 36 oh no I shouldn;t do that - it shows my lines

Demented · 12/09/2004 16:40

Ah there we go Jampot beat me to it!

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 16:40

Phew, thanks Jampot. Was beginning to panic there! Do you find that they actually do anything?

OP posts:
MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 16:43

Hi Demented. Dont know why, but I am having a serious aging block at the moment. They had a thread on not so long ago about do you look your age and does it matter. I seemed to be the only one who felt I looked older than I was, and it didnt do my ego much good. But I really really need to start using something before all hope is lost and my features disappear into the crevices!!

Clinique does do much tbh but the body shop one takes away puffiness, fine lines and dark circles... and it really does (nb: not hte vitamin e one)

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 16:47

And does the bodyshop open at 16.48 on a Sunday???????????????? Thanks a million. Good price too! Demented, when you see me next Ill be looking 21, instead of just saying i am. (Oops, said I didnt lie didnt I/)

jampot · 12/09/2004 16:51

Demented · 12/09/2004 16:54

That's the one I've got in my drawer! It is supposed to be very good!

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:04

Excellent! Thanks. Ill give it a whirl then so that Ill be able to smile again without worrying. (And worry whilst smiling too I guess.)

Why do you have this cream anyway Demented? You dont need it!

whymummy · 12/09/2004 17:07

MUMINAMILLION i too look awful after the summer,i'm allergic to most antiwrinkle creams,i think is the retynol,my eyes swell up and when the swelling goes down i'm left with even more wrinkles and very dried skin ,i will give the bodyshop one a try

Demented · 12/09/2004 17:08

LOL, you've not seen me in the mornings!

I hosted a Body Shop party and it was offered to me for something like £2 because I was the hostess, there was such excitement in the room about it I thought I'd better buy it! Peer pressure!

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:14

Never thought about it being the summer whymummy. Too much squinting in the sun perhaps? Or not, considering we've not seen much of it this year. Ho hum, will just have to put it down to me having had another birthday in August. I definately dont glow in the summer tho. My nose is completely peeled at the moment, it looks awful. And all my freckles come out too! Gloom and doom.

MUMINAMILLION is my own fault, while on holiday i made sure the children were covered in suncream but i never bother putting it on myself,i think i won't burn i keep forgetting that my olive skin has disapeared since i've lived in england for so long

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:22

Same thing here (not the olive skin unfortunately, the not putting suncream on!)

I hate putting on suncream though, its so messy. Ill need to try one of those sprays.

Where did you live before?

OP posts:
whymummy · 12/09/2004 17:26

i'm from spain, never used to burn,i don't bother with suncream for the same reason, too messy and also i can never sunbathed while on the beach,i'm always watching dd like a hawk, she's fearless but you still burn,i'll be 37 next year so time to invest in really expensive face suncream ,lol

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:30

Are you mad?????? Heres me dreaming about moving to hotter climates and you move over to here? Mind you, I got back yesterday from a weeks holiday in exotic Arbroath. The weather was fabulous and the beach deserted. It was like the costa brava but without the plane fare! So, when we get the weather it can be nice.

Well, thats the eyecream sorted out. Maybe I should do a thread for suncream for the over 35's next!

whymummy · 12/09/2004 17:35

glad you had a nice holiday
i might ask santa for a facial peel

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:37

That sounds so painful!! Dont know how many layers they would have to peel off me to make any difference tho. Mind you, my bones dont have too many wrinkles yet........

Actually, my dh told me a joke connected to this thread this morning. Quite rude and sexist, but also quite funny. Is it worth telling it?

OP posts:
whymummy · 12/09/2004 17:41

lol,i probably look better with no skin at all,go on tell the joke

MUMINAMILLION · 12/09/2004 17:45

Youll be sorry. Im rubbish at telling jokes - even over the net!

A man went into a lingerie shop to buy something nice for his wife. He saw a little number for £500 and thought he would get it for a treat. (You can tell this is a joke - what man would spend that?)

Anyway, back home he gave it to his wife and told her to go up and try it on. She took it upstairs and decided it wasnt worth the money. So she thought she would stand at the top of the stairs with nothing on instead, and take the lingerie set back to the shop and get the money back.

So she stood on the landing, in the nude, and called to her hubby telling him she was ready. He came through, took one look at her and said "Well, for £500 you'd think they would have ironed it!!"
