Got the trampoline, but what about insurance???

DD is now the proud owner of a new birthday trampoline complete with safety net.

However, I am nervous of letting other people's children use it without getting insurance - does anyone have any advice/experience?

Someone suggested asking parents to sign a waver form!!! Is that the most practical approach?

agree with twig. or check your house contents if you must have them round- there's some public liability on that

Agree with pixiefish that you should have some public liability insurance on your home contents cover. Have a look at the small print on the docs to reassure yourself.

I would say though, that I don't know many people in practise that would sue for a genuine accident at your home. I probably would ask a visiting child's parents casually "oh, you don't mind if they use the trampoline do you?" in case they do happen to be of the over-cautious variety, but that's all.

I guess I won't neccessarily know the parents of dd's friends that well...
It's such a different world now though with folk taking legal action all over the place.

So I just thought maybe better safe than sorry! I don't have contents insurance but just looked at some online - most didn't actually say they included public liability though...
