Has anyone tried a Doidy feeding cup?

Has anyone tried a Doidy feeding cup? A lactation specialist recommended it to me instead of going the soft spout/hard spout route from breast feeding. I would be interested to know your experiences with this. Thanks.

Brilliant! Very cheap too.

I only gave it to my son with water but I think it may have helped him get the concept of tipping. (I remember it took my nephew years to figure that out!) I couldn't leave him alone with it and I think it quite hard for them to put down as well when they become more independent.

We used them from 4 months with DD and she got on really well with them. Much better than with a spout. I agree that when young you have to help out, it's not an indeoendent thing. BUt by the time DD was about 9 months (maybe earlier, can't remember) she could pick it up and drink from it herself although still needed a little help to place it down without spilling. That can be reduced a bit though if you don't fill it up too much each time.

I'd really recommend it.

I got one when Hulababy recommended it on another thread.

i started Dd on this when she was 5 months - offered her cooled boiled water in it every time i offered any food. To begin with she kind of lapped at it like a cat and blew carrotty bubbles into it - didn't look hopeful. She's now 6 months, and drinking from it very competently - a perfectly efficient way to get water. She even holds it at the right angle in her hands, but if I turn my back she immediately tips it over herself and cries at being wet! Hoping she'll grow out of that.

In summary - think it is good - much better than i expected.

i give ds a bit of milk in it with his tea. he thinks it's fantastically funny that he can sip (loudly) from it! i think they're great. i can't give it to him all the time (once he's finished sipping he shakes it about and milk goes everywhere) but think they're really good for getting babies used to cups.
