I'm 21 and recently found out i'm pregnant! My boyfriend and I both drive modified cars(lowered on coilovers) i'm wondering are there any other modified mummys or mummys to be? And did you have to put your car back to standard or was it ok to drive a modified car during and after your pregnancy?? Really love my car its so smooth and comfortable would hate to have to put standard suspension in her😂x

One thing you rarely hear coilovers described as is “smooth and comfortable.” They’re usually on the extreme firm side, however no reason you shouldn’t have a baby and a modified car. If it’s really firm and jiggly your baby may not be so keen. I’ve had my DD in multiple modified cars and she’s been perfectly happy.

Are you on the FB group Car Girl Culture? Someone was asking this very question the other day and the general opinion was that lowered cars were fab for rocking babies to sleep.

If you are not on Car Girl Culture, come and join us. Grin

Id be less worried about the ride characteristics, but I’d look into whether any safety was being compromised by the mods.

If the stopping distance or handling isn’t negatively affected, and nothing has changes regardless the structural integrity of the body and the crumple zones then I wouldn’t worry too much.

"stylishmummy" i don't understand why you have to be an ass about it? i'm 21 years old and i enjoy driving a modified car, if i have to change it then i am well prepared to do so, but if its not needed to be changed then why should i bother? if its still as safe and fine for my baby why the hell not? just because i'm going to be a mother does not mean i cannot enjoy the things i wish to enjoy. So please, take your foul language and your negative tone and keep it away from me.

Thank you to everyone else for your messages, you have been very helpful!!

I've never gone in for mods myself, but if it's what floats your boat . there's no need to change. As long as it passes it's MOT it's safe enough for you and your baby.
