What is the absolute best really small folding light weight buggy at the moment?

Money no object! (well, maybe it is but I'm trying to forget that...)

We want to keep our ford focus because it has a TDi engine but our skoda fabia is the far more sensible option because it has a huge boot but it's only an SDi (think slug).

We need to cut down to one car so please help me find a buggy that'll squeeze in with a suitcase! pleeease!

quinny zapp folds up pretty small

SlightlyMadSpider · 11/07/2007 21:40

I have just brought a Techno XT. It is not the smallest fold. It has lots of features which look good on paper. Can't comment on usability of it as it only arrived this afternoone and so far I have only pushed it as far as my garage.

The Quinny Zapp folds much smaller but doesn't recline. There is also a Britax version of the Zap which is only available from mothercare online but does recline.

Finally I think one of hte smallest is the microlight but it looks very flimsy and a bit of a squeeze for older children IMO.

SlightlyMadSpider · 11/07/2007 21:43

britax verve

teafortwoandtwofortea · 11/07/2007 21:53

I like the zapp - I think they're coming first at the moment.

The maclarens are OK but long when folded...

Already have a micralite and even with the wheels off it's bigger than the boot can take.

Recline isn't an issue - DS2 is 9 months now and doesn't really need it. Anyone tried the 2-wheel phil and teds thing?

Did you look at the Britax Verve? It looks very similar to Zap and does apprently recline. IMO a 9m needs to be able to recline at least a little bit when they sleep - which is why I have brought the XT to replace my old daytripper which only reclines a little. DD3 15m BTW.

MrsBadger · 11/07/2007 21:59

(if you're looking at Maclarens the Triumph is smaller and lighter tha the Techno)

teafortwoandtwofortea · 11/07/2007 22:04

ooh this is great, haven't been shopping for pushchairs for ages and have just found the bebe confort 'vit', and two by quicksmart - the 'easy fold' and the 'surf'. I think I like the bebe confort one! Thanks for the verve link SMS - I (stupidly) hadn't thought mothercare would be stocking fun prams like that - theyolnlt stock boring ordinary stuff up north!

Soupy - thanks but I'm nowhere near

now, anyone want to buy a skoda?

they only (sorry)

Thanks MB, we had a triumph but again, it's a bit long.

Never realised how small a focus's boot was until we tried packing the weekly shop in!

I can get a micralite into the boot of a fabia

Hansmummy · 11/07/2007 22:08

The Quinny Zapp will go in a foot well-you don't even need to put it in the boot! Problem solved!

teafortwoandtwofortea · 11/07/2007 22:31

Peachygirl - I know! I love my micralite and will be keeping it but we want to sell the fabia and keep the focus (nippier car with comfort bits like electric wondows and a/c). In fact I can get my micralite, phil and teds and a suitcase in the fabia... Bigger boot, but too slow up hills!

I recently bought a Maclaren Quest. I have a car with a tiny boot (Arosa) and it fits it perfectly. It reclines quite a bit and is light and easy to push. I would highly recommend it.

Tea, I'm told it can also be collected from Stratford upon Avon area on Saturday or anywhere clockwise round M25 up M40 sort of areas too....
