Where oh where to find a cute rather than sexy all in one swim suit (not bikini) for my 7 (going on 8) year old.

Everywhere I've tried either have bikinis, sexy or are out of stock. I need this for a holiday to center parcs on Friday. She's complaining that her current one goes up her bottom (and watching her today in her lesson it does! bless!).

Places I've tried so far are:
M&S
Monsoon
Johnlewis
Next
Verbaudet
La Redoute
Laura Ashley (was getting desperate)

I think, in desperation, I bought DD's last ones from Tesco and Matalan (I had a the same problem trying to find a practical one piece that wasn't too "grown-up" looking)

Skribble · 10/07/2007 21:11

I skipped cute and my DD has two navy "proper" swimsuits. (she takes her lessons very seriously .

Do you have a Mackays?
Or a Sports World? That's where we get ours.

And Boden, obviously - this is Mumsnet after all!

Hulababy · 10/07/2007 21:20

What about the supermarkets?

LeafTurner · 10/07/2007 21:21

We have this one - it's lovely !

debenhams usually have nice ones

Surfermum · 10/07/2007 21:24

I get dd's from Tesco. Woolworths have them too.

Beauregard · 10/07/2007 21:27

H & M?

Miaou · 10/07/2007 21:28

Woolworths had some ok ones I think, if you can cope with pink and sparkly

katelyle · 10/07/2007 21:28

Woolworths sell Ladybird stuff - good plain school type ones.

JackieNo · 10/07/2007 21:36

I'd second a sports shop - some of the speedo etc type ones are pretty, but practical.

LeafTurner · 10/07/2007 21:38

Actually - thinking about it - they had nice ones at Centre Parcs last time I went - quite a good swimming shop - I bought a cozzie there myself ! Bit dearer than home shops - but needs must etc

pyjamaqueen · 10/07/2007 21:41

Sainsburys
H&M
Gap

tiredteddy · 10/07/2007 21:41

have a look at mini boden, a bit more expensive but girly and cute rather than sexy for a still little girl? hope you find one!

BettySpaghetti · 10/07/2007 21:42

How about your local pool? Ours has quite a big selection now

Wills · 10/07/2007 21:52

Local pool is ermmmm a step back in time and definitely not going to sell swimming cozzies.

Debenhams - nope she's moved into the 8-16 year old range that is distinctly sexy rather cute and practical.

H&M - see above for debenhams. To be honest I'd thought of starting a thread on the Am I unreasonable..... to not want my 7 (approaching 8) year old to be dressed the same as a 16 year old. I'm lucky in that she doesn't look at fashion and I've good few years ahead of me of making her my "English Rose" if I'm careful.

Hmm will try gap and Sainsburys and Tescos though, but suspect that Sainsburys and Tescos will be the same as H&M and Debenhams whose clothes I adored until she got too tall for 7!

Surfermum · 12/07/2007 20:48
