Your maternity pillow recommendations please!

We're making plans to test and review maternity pillows and we'd love to know which ones you'd recommend.

If you've used and loved a maternity/pregnancy pillow recently, we'd love to hear about it. Your comments will help us to create a shortlist of pillows to test and recommend to new parents.

It's not strictly a maternity pillow, but a friend of DPs, with five kids, swears by the Simba Hybrid. (It's a fab normal pillow too).

Loved the dream genie while I was pregnant. Was struggling to get comfy to sleep, got this and made such an amazing difference.

I bought one from Lidl last week it's like a sausage filled with beans and is mouldable. Much better than the v shaped ones it's so flexible. Will also use it as a support and to feed baby was cheap too!! And I've been Sleeping since I've bought it and no hip pain! X

Dreamgenii as it’s not so big that it takes up all the room and can be used after for feeding

Another vote for the Lidl one. Because it's flexible you can use it for all sorts. Really versatile, good value for money and useful after the baby stage is over.

Dreamgeniie was the biggest pile of useless crap.

I also have the Lidl one (in fact, I have 2 because I find them very useful not just during pregnancy but also at the next stages for protecting co-sleeping babies and then for stopping toddlers for falling out of their own beds). Mine are probably older than PPs - long, but sadly not bean filled (that sounds ace).

SimplySteve, during mi first pregnacy I've had Simba - was reaaally great :-) It's not that cheap but definitely worth the money!

Hands down best thing I bought in pregnancy, now using it for nursing in bed. Got rid of the back pain I'd been having and made for much more comfortable nights.

I was so excited and happy with it my DH accused me of being on commission for the company ...

Dreamgenie biggest waste of money ever. Too short for me and so unconfortable.

Best pilllow is a u shaped full length one, although does tend to take up a lot of the bed and DH not too i impressed. But I had really bad SPD requiring crutches to walk and it made sleep more bearable.

I think it depends on what sort of pillow you like to sleep with when not pregnant.
I made the mistake of buying one of those big U shaped pillows but found it was far to thick and dense.
Had I bought the same thing in feather down, I imagine it would’ve been an absolute dream.

So it may be worth when reviewing them, to get people to say what they use pre-pregnancy, as well as for pregnancy.

Definitely BBhugme. Really comfortable and lovely soft material and different ways/positions that you can use it. The children also love it and keep stealing it so definitely will carry on using it after pregnancy. Dreamgenii was a waste of money - it is really hard and thin and doesn’t mould to your body.

Giant u shaped pillow wins it for me. Never tried any of the others (I do have the Lidl one but bought after baby was here although don’t think it would quite have cut it personally). Absolute heaven. I had given myself really sore shoulders by rolling them under me to rest my bump on the mattress and this was instant bliss. Head on the u bit, on but down my back and the other under bump and between my knees. Heaven

I returned my DreamGenie because it flattened really quickly. Next time I’m investing in a BBhugme...or maybe the Lidl version which sounds like a copy

It didn’t have a brand, but my dm bought me a 1.5 metre long thin-ish straight pillow, I think from costco, which was amazing. I could wrap it around/under my bump, and it was great for extra support when I finally cracked bfing lying down with dc2 &3

I bought a Theraline maternity pillow when I was pregnant with DS1 six years ago. I'm still using it now through my third pregnancy and I can't sleep without it, love it!
