I need a pretty raincoat/cagoul for my DD who is 25 months old. No padding on it, just to keep in boot of car, in case it rains. can't find one anywhere.

Have yo tried Woolworths? Or posher ones in garden centres sometimes.

Miaou · 29/08/2004 10:40

Hi Spanna, try muddy puddles
I love their stuff and ahve bought it for my dds since they were toddlers. Hard wearing, bright and cheerful and a good price too.

deegward · 29/08/2004 10:47

bought ds one from Adams (usually in Sainsbury's) packs into pocket on back so really portable, I'm sure they would do girly ones.

lulupop · 29/08/2004 11:44

Gap do one that packs away into its own little pounch. V handy and I carry it round in my handbag for DS, who has developed a very strange phobia of rain

Branster · 29/08/2004 11:49

some big garden centers sell them (i think) too

Hulababy · 29/08/2004 11:50

We got a little plastic mac - lilac with butterflies on - for £2.50 from B Wise. That was about 2 months ago. Really cheap but did us well all holiday, and folds down to nothing.

Branster · 29/08/2004 11:52

what's B Wise?

enid · 29/08/2004 13:24

mothercare have lovely stuff this season, including a very thin waterproof mac - pale pink with dark pink dots on. Both my dds have one. £10.

LittleMissmonsterchops · 29/08/2004 16:00

Next have a lovely purple one with flowers on it

Snowbell · 29/08/2004 16:49

I got a pink one for my DD (aged 2.5) from Woolies, earlier this year. I think it was £7. I've been really pleased with it.

Another vote for Muddy Puddles. Plain but bright and 100 waterproof. Their waterproof trousers are fab! DSs nursery recommend all children have them so they can use the garden without getting muddy all year round. Generous sizes too so they fit over clothing.

LIZS · 29/08/2004 20:34

Recommend H and M who do the matching dungarees too or we have a Jeantex which is expensive but windproof, waterproof and breathable and previously had a Keela.

Piffleoffagus · 29/08/2004 20:35

I got a stunning one of ebay made by Gymboree it even has a hat!
I saw some I think in Debenhams.. too...

MadameButterfly · 29/08/2004 21:14

I second BeWise . I got a lovely mac for DD from there a while a go and she loves it.

blossomhill · 29/08/2004 21:17

Peacocks do really reasonable ones.

discordia · 29/08/2004 21:34

Woollies do little macs that fold up into a pouch - very handy and portable. They do pink for girls and grey for boys (or girls who don't like pink!).

fabarooney · 29/08/2004 22:17

Togz specialise in waterproof gear for children. togz

mumbojumbo · 29/08/2004 22:22

I got a really good lightweight mac for ds1 and ds2 from Gap (and they were both in the sale). Bit like a cagoule (sp?) with a hood.

cazzybabs · 29/08/2004 23:03

We got ours from Next - its purple with a little girl with an umberella. And it folds up small into its pocket. And it has withstood all these heavy downpours this August.

prufrock · 30/08/2004 14:07

Matalan do a great "mac in a bag" which is v. cheap
