Crocheting wool

So I'm wanting to crochet a something for my little girl but I'm not sure what is safe to use as I'm wanting to crochet her a lovey so it's something that's going to be near her mouth. Does anyone know what I can use which will be safe for her and that I will be able to put into the washing machine and possibly into the tumble dryer?

Thank you in advance

Lots of manufacturers do baby wool, but I should think you'll be fine with pretty much anything. I like bernat yarn for being super soft, but it isn't wool. Wool is usually dry flat, isn't it?

Statecraft special is 100% acrylic and machine washes and tumble dries. I can't see any problem with it going in her mouth. Cotton yarn would give a smoother feel though. You can buy fairly cheap cotton yarn made from recycled t-shirts.

Use 100% cotton, something like schachenmyr from wool warehouse. Lovely colours and very safe, can be washed at 60 and tumble dried. I make little comfort objects for newborns through a charity and they will only accept 100% cotton. Make sure or keep tension tight so little fingers can't get through the holes.

Stylecraft special DK is a lovely 100% acrylic yarn. I use it for baby knits and crochet and do a lot of crochet blankets. It washes well and I machine wash and tumble dry each items as soon as I finish it
No need to buy baby yarn which is more expensive.
