Small car long motorway commute

This will be 'my' car not the family car so just used for my commute (65 miles each way, 55 of which on the motorway, the rest in city traffic).

That said it will get used as the spare car or for the odd family trip so needs to fit in 6ft 4 dh as well as 2 tween dds.

Needs to be safe, reliable and economical. Am looking at second hand but not more than 5 years old.

Any ideas? Possibles are Skoda citigo, Skoda Fabia or Hyundai 120 but am only at first stages of looking so open to anything.

I'm not suggesting discounting a whole brand. I'm talking about the Ecoboost engine by that brand. It's only the Ecoboost causing the problem. Ford still offers the Fiesta with the very well proven Zetec engine, for example.

And again, the recall isn't the problem. It's the thousands which have had the problem which have not been recalled that is worrying, and why it has taken exposure by the BBC to provoke the recall when Ford has known its engines have been catching fire for a few years now.

See it’s alreay been mentioned but don’t touch EcoBoost engines not worth the risk.
