is who loaded icod?

Marina · 11/06/2007 22:00

Well now I know you don't have to smash them to smithereens to get at the cash I might buy some as presents. I've always considered them too handsome to be pulverised

BibiThree · 11/06/2007 22:00

I know dh liked the one I got him and he's a teacher. He'd MUCH rather one of those from the kids in his class than the "Best Teacher" mugs, plaques and fridge magnets he usually gets.

schneebly · 11/06/2007 22:00

They are lovely - if someone got me one as I gift I would be very pleased! Lovely idea.

ValnBen · 11/06/2007 22:01

icod ? because????? (PB's have been given as a totally acceptable (welcoming) gift for years and years and years.......)

ahundredtimes · 11/06/2007 22:02

Well now, I've never seen or heard of these before. What inscription will you chose for the pot?

snowwonder · 11/06/2007 22:02

i drill a hole in bottom, and hit it out a bit so i dont get bad luck, and to make a bigger hole, then cork it back uop and start saving again,

i normally use the money for christmas

ahundredtimes · 11/06/2007 22:03

are they bad luck then? seems a bit of a mixed present in that case.

poor snowwonder with her drill every year then. tell her.

saggers · 11/06/2007 22:05

I bought one for dd1 for first Christmas present. A friend bought one for dd2 when she was born. dd1's is very heavy now. (Probably two thirds full of silver) She was upset a while ago when I told her we'd have to smash it to get the money out, but now she knows you can make a wish, she can't wait. They have a fortune card in them too I think.

ahundredtimes · 11/06/2007 22:06

Glory. They're something else aren't they? I'm going to get some. Do you think though if you give them to people, they think you think they're a bit spendthrift and ought to save?

snowwonder · 11/06/2007 22:07

well the old saying goes that they have to be smashed, so i smash the hole a bit to make it bigger, only done it once as i just reuse it now,

i would quite like a new one as i love the little sayings you get in them

I'll get you one. I'm doing a bulk order. Can you chose what inscription you have put on the front?

Am thinking of all kinds of funny possibilities (not for you snowwonder, obviously, yours will have snowflakes on it).

the fine stripe B&W? yes.
Inscriptions v. tacky IMO

ValnBen · 11/06/2007 22:11

LOL cod ? me too.

But, I guess it depends on how receptive the intended ?giftee? is to having to display said object so as not to cause offence IYSWIM?..
I would rather have a nice piece of paper that I could neatly store away in the back of some drawer (?til the nice letter arrived informing me of my impending fortune) than have to get out the ?ornament? when mr and mrs cod come a visiting ?.ruthless maybe?..

grrrr

cod of all people to go on about these too

what has the world come to while I was away

Neena28 · 11/06/2007 22:13

I bought one for my sister that is cream with baby on it. Very simple and plain but she loved it.

Also bought one for ds which he has great delight in dropping anything he is given into.

A nice idea imo.
