Sticky Ring

Right - my best friend told me to get a "sticky ring" for on my DD's highchair to stop her lobbing the bowl/plate accross the room. I looked somewhat sceptical and asked if she meant one of the Tommee Tippee ones, bt she assured me there is a product called Sticky Ring (she thinks ).

Now, I've just Googled Sticky Ring - OMG!!! Anyone know the real name for the product she is trying to get me to buy, because my DD is NOT having the sort of sticky ring I found on Google!

I know! I think she's having me one, but she keeps assuring me it looks like a doughnut

They don't work anyway.

LilRedWG · 08/06/2007 11:21

Bugger! How do I stop her lobbing it everywhere then?

Don't use a plate

LilRedWG · 08/06/2007 11:26

I don't at the moment but am getting fedup of people going on about how she'll have to use a plate one day. Argh!

How old is she?

Desiderata · 08/06/2007 11:27

PMSL

Flame · 08/06/2007 11:27

lmao!!!

No plate until she is old enough not to lob.

She won't be lobbing plates/eating off the table when she starts uni (well, not unless she's drunk etc), so tis fine

SoupDragon · 08/06/2007 11:27

BabyDragon is 16months and I put small amounts of her food from one bowl onto her plate/bowl. Then she can't lob too much at once.

Flame · 08/06/2007 11:29

DS sits with his plate... empties it all out... and then puts back in the food he likes (sometimes licking bits to check whether it is in the stay or go pile).

Once he's eaten everything that he put back in the plate, he then picks at the bits on the table incase he has changed his mind

stealthsquiggle · 08/06/2007 11:38

neither suction rings nor anything equivaleny work on a wooden table - they are only designed for plastic highchair trays - as I learned after I had bought them for DS when he only had a trip-trapp chair which pulled up to the table and had no tray.....

LilRedWG · 08/06/2007 14:28

Think I'll just ignore the tutting and stick with her tray then She's one BTW.

Had a similar experience googling "smoothie" a few years ago...

PrettyCandles · 08/06/2007 14:31

Nah, nothing works. Let her have a plate (one with food on, that is) when she's old enough not to lob it across the room. And even then make sure it's plastic!

LilRedWG · 08/06/2007 14:32

LOL Whoooosh! It was certainly educational!
