I've got a Hauck pushchair and it's awful!!
But they are supposed to be the best brand in Germany, though. What I hate about the pushchair is too low for me (I'm a bit tall at 5'8", wheel base quite wide (drives us nuts, hard to turn and easy to trip up in wheels). I got it 2nd hand for £5 and am trying to wear it out before I wear out the lovely McClaran umbrella pushchair we have.

hi zebra, thanks for your reply, the hauck pram i was thinking of getting is a three wheeler 'the road runner-shop and drive'but your comments have made me think twice! i wonder if this is any better than the pushchair?i also wonder if the build quality is good? it looks to have good suspension and it doesnt have air tyres (which apparently can need the puncture repair kit to often if taken all-terrain walking).Does a three wheeler need a swivel front wheel for easier pushing? Any other comments would be much appreciated please jen

i've had friends who have three wheelers, with no swivel wheel and i just think what is the point of a three wheeler, they're big, don't fit into boots of cars without having to take the front wheel off, don't manouvere well, don't look very comfortable for baby, have peculiar brakes...
i think if you aim to do lots of cross country, have the room to store it etc, don't go shopping mcuh... then go for it! but i find them a very strange choice for a push chair!
good luck!

I have a 3 wheeler with swivel front wheel - in nearlt 2 years it's only had 1 puncture. It's by a NZ co called - Oh blimey, I've forgotten. It's an Explorrer. Phil and Ted's excellent buggy co or something really stupid like that. It is really good, folds easily and can be converted to a double. I got it shipped for not very much.
I personally think the swivel wheel on any pushchair, not just a 3-wheeler to be a must, and would never buy one without. What a pain in the bum having to lift the fromt wheel every time you turn a corner.
Also, if you are walking on rough ground, surely your kiddies bum will appreciate the pneumatic tyres? They really do make a big difference.
