2014 Citroen C3 or 2013 Kia Rio

Need to decide tonight. Bought C3 yesterday but having a wobble over NCAP rating (only 4 stars and awful on whiplash!),
Dealer willing to exchange for the more expensive Kia Rio tomorrow if I want.

Full specs and my thinking / needs below:

2014 Citroen C3 1.0l VTR+ Petrol
38,000 miles
FSH
Great official MPG
Four star Euro NCAP. Low pedestrian safety and safety assist scores. Red warning for whiplash risk. No electronic stability (anti skid system).
Only one key supplied.
Two of the most recent MOTs have a few advisories on them (tires wearing low, exhaust bracket worn) but presumably these were fixed as it passed the most recent one.
Serviced 2 months ago.
£5,000

2013 Kia Rio 2, 1.4 ISG ecoboost Petrol
25,000 miles
FSH
£120 a year tax
Two keys supplied.
All recent MOTs have passed with no advisories.
Five star Euro NCAP rating.

Insurance quotes are comparable for both.
Boot space / leg room / rear visibility comparable in both.
Both have a full spare wheel.
Kia has front and back electric windows. C3 front electric only.
Kia has adjustable steering column. C3 doesn’t. Kia seems more solid, obviously more powerful, sporty and less airy inside, but C3 light / bright, a bit fun nippy, if a bit slow to accelerate and whirry.

Both are recently serviced and have 6mths MOT.

Questions:

Does the Kia warranty transfer so long as service history is complete, even if not serviced at a dealership?
It seems so but just checking.

How important is the difference in NCAP rating?

Do the NCAP ratings apply to all variants / engine sizes of the same model and year car?

How likely are the official MPG to bear our in reality?

Is a 1.0l engine practical on the motorway for overtaking or when you need a bit of speed eg roundabouts?

I need a reliable and cheap runaround for mostly 30-50mph trips day to day, once weekly A road drives of up to an hour each way and a couple of longer motorway trips a year. I generally drive sensibly and within the speed limits.

Overall running costs are important to me so MPG and reliability / cost of servicing and repairs.

Anyone got any real life reviews of these cars or any particular knowledge on the technical stuff please?

Thanks so much!

Personally I’d rather have the Kia

I had a 2010 Rio as my first car in 2012 I bloody adored it. I’ve had a golf for a year and was toying between a 5 year old c3 or a similar age Rio. How are you finding it.
Best

Love my Kia. Mine is a 2013 one and never had any problems with it so far and we do a lot of miles! Great cars.
