Has any one got a pool/padding pool, the ones that cost about £100-£150.
Are they any good and what is the cost of upkeep per month.

We have one. We put a filter on everynight for a couple of hours and change the filters i think every couple of months and we put chlorine tablet float thing in when it is not in use (lasts for ages).

Ours was a disaster. You have to have a totally flat bit of grass otherwise it kind of tips over. Also leaves fell in it and it got murky in about a week. Took ages to fill up, ruined the lawn and when I unpacked it the next year the inflatable ring around top had a hole in it so the whole thing just wilted over. Was a big waste of money in our case. The kids were bored of it after a few days anyway.

Oh yes the leaves are a problem so invest in a cover. Have to say my children are in it nearly everyday (DD is in it at the moment with her Nana!). We love it. We also had a smal hole in the inflatable ring but DH fixed with a cycle puncture repair kit and it's fine.

We had one last year and it was a huge success. Ours had a filter too which kept the water clean. We emptied and refilled it 3 times and it was used for about 6 weeks.

Watch out for squirrels though. We noticed ours had gone green one day, and when DH put his hand under the rim to investigate, he found a drowned squirrel all bloated. It was grotesque. We bought a cover for it after that and that heped keep it clean.

There is also still a bald patch in the lawn from where we had it.

The DSs keep asking for us to get out, but we will have to give it a miss this year because DD is too little.

our grass has grown back failry well from last year, they can be hard work in terms of maintenance but well worth it IMO

I haven't seen grass for about 6 months so I'll admit that's not an issue for us!

thanks some great info there, not worried about grass and have the perfect flat spot for it.
Running cost would be great.
