Argos nursery furniture

I'm having a tough time deciding what nursery furniture to buy. All the cotbeds I like don't come with matching furniture and the ones that do are horrifically expensive.

i really like the look of the Argos Salisbury set. has anyone bought argos nursey furniture? if so what was the quality like?

Many thanks

sorry to burst the bubble, but the sets from argos are awful!

why do you need matching sets? Nursery furniture that comes as a package is tiny and lasts very little time- we always recomend to buy co-ordinating adult furniture!

check out www.o-baby.co.uk if you really want matching sets, most independant baby shops will stock or be able to order o-baby goods, and they are very good quality.

No, don't need matching set at all - it was just one less thing to worry about.

I think I get more stressed about making the right decision on pram / cot then I am about giving birth. thankfully pram not bought - Silver Cross linear freeway in the end, so just the cot left of the big items to get now!

just buy a really nice cotbed with a top quality mattress and get the rest of the furniture to last!

Hersetta i was the same as you (due in 5 weeks time and still not got the wardrobe yet!) but when i looked around it seemed to make more sense to get a good cotbed and mattress and then buy a wardrobe that can last past babyhood and into childhood and beyond. Baby wardrobes are tiny and kids grow very fast. You can get some excellent wardrobes at Ikea that you can create yourself - i.e. put in the rail and shelves where you like, so you can make it up to suit baby clothes and then adapt it to fit larger clothes as the kids grow. Works out a lot cheaper and last much longer.

Good luck

thanks - not due for another 12 weeks just getting paranoid about the whole thing.

Ok, will go for my first choice Cosatto cotbed and mattress and will just buy a nice chest of drawers. Wasn't really worried about a wardrobe just yes as have no intention of hanging up baby clothes just yet.

Not nursery funitire but dd has a bed similar to this one from Argos and although you can tell it was not super expensive it is lovely and it has lasted a good few years of being jumped upon by random children.
