Our telly has blown up! Dh is delighted as he thinks he won't have to suffer Big Brother. I have other plans. Can anyone recommend a nice new telly for Enid?

I know nothing about tvs. Our is/was a Sony, not flat screen, 28".

Spose I'll have to get a flat screen. What's the best make then?

dh WANTS a flat screen (not in kitchen though, not on the wall)now

we have a portable in the kitchen (ancient, almost quite retro in its unfashionableness) and the kdis can watch dvds on teh pc

so really we could do without a big telly except its quite nice to slob in front of it with a bottle of wine

We have discreet flat screen in our kitchen/family room which doubles very cleverly as a PC monitor and has built in freeview (sooooo much easier than having another box to fiddle with). Got on internet with 43% discount so was comparatively cheap as well as being v whizzy. Think it's a toshiba 21" (poss 23") LCD widescreen. Clearly dh chose it but am secretly quite pleased with it too.

We have a flat screen LCD, IMO you can get away with a bigger screen size with the flat screen, we had a 28" TV previously and DH replaced it with a 32" and I was freaking out but in reality it actually looks less imposing than the 28" old style telly.

It's not on the wall, don't like that either.

Juliet, I thought you were Cod??? I am confused you seem to have DDs or is that a typo?

glad to see most tvs seem to have reverted to black surround

always thought the silver was most unstylish but you couldnt get a black one for love nor money 5 years ago

please dont get a huge MoFo plasma jobby

I may have to stop talking to you otherwise

Go to your Local Man after researching the internet (ie this thread), say what you want, knock a bit from his price, voila, service and bargain all in one

Enid · 23/05/2007 10:06
