Anyone got a number for Simply Organic?

They're the ones that deliver via Express Dairies, aren't they?

Tried a local box scheme here which was supposed to deliver today and they STILL haven't turned up... tried to phone up their office and no-one is answering so I think they've all gone home...

So was thinking of trying Simply Organic but I can't seem to find their website. Has anyone got a telephone number for them?

is this it here ?

try again here

No ... that appears to be the big brand supermarket stuff... there used to be a site at simplyorganic.net which did organic fruit and veg box schemes. Have they stopped doing it then?

I also tried to get hold of Simply Organic the other day and couldn't and that was after getting their details from the Soil Association website which you would have thought would be kept up to date.

I did message the Soil Assoc to ask them and if they reply, I'll let you know.

Thanks mckenzie. Just had my local box delivered - looks nice stuff, but they were a bit surly and no apology for being so late (I managed to get through at 6pm and they said they'd be here within the hour).

Can anyone recommend another box scheme that's national, has good quality fruit & veg, and isn't criminally expensive?

I applied via the internet for a box from Just Organic. That was on monday and I've heard nothing since!

Surely one of the reasons to get a box is to support a local business and to get local products though?

We have a local co-opertive which does veg boxes and as much as possible comes from local growers. Think on the food miles from the national schemes.

I know its easy to get cross if they are late but bear in mind its probably a small local company who will be really busy on delivery days. One of my friends delivers the boxes here. A few weeks ago they were so streched that she delivered the last one at 10pm. I'd be pretty impressed to think of someone working so late to get it to me. And I bet she wasn't all bright eyed and bushy tailed by that point either.

Of course I may be wrong and you may just have a duff local box scheme but I think you should give them a bit more of a chance first....

It's all very well supporting local businesses, but if you don't think they're all that, then it's daft to support them. I'm sorry, but I used to work in customer services, and a smile and an apology costs nothing and would have gone a long way to restore my feelings of good will towards them.

I have no issues with small businesses, in my experience, I often find small businesses friendlier and easier to deal with. Wouldn't bother again with this one.

Oh, and the reason I want a box is a) I'm bitterly disappointed with the quality of both Sainsbury's and Tesco's fruit and veg at the moment and b) I quite like the idea of someone else having to do the brain work of what fruit and veg we're going to have this week Don't care whether big or small as long as the quality is good and has good customer service. TBH, even the organic bit is a minor bonus.

Our box comes from a local wholefood shop, but my mum uses Riverford Organics . Don't know exactly what their delivery area is (possibly just south of England), but the boxes are very good, and their customer service excellent -- my ma is very scatty and forever phoning them up with last-minute requests after the deadline for orders has passed, and most of the time they manage to meet her requirements and are always friendly about it.

I have not been able to contact Simply Organic, I think they have closed down. I now use The Organic Delivery Company who deliver to London in the evening. What I like is that you don't have to have a set box, and there is virtully no packaging. \link{http://www.organicdelivery.co.uk
