Because I've been trying unsuccessfully to bid for several on Ebay for up to £20 and the lady who's advertising one on MN hasn't replied to my post. I'm thinking I should maybe get one new and hopefully sell it for a good price (judging by the prices they're going for at the moment). All opinions welcome as long as I agree lol. Thanks.

I have one and I like it loads, easy to put on after 2 or 3 goes it becomes really easy. I don't like it for back carrying though, ds1 likes to face outwards.
The only thing is I have a bad back which is why I went for this one hoping it would be ok, my back still hurts after about 20 minutes but not sure if it's the carrier or just me

Is it OK to put on for back carrying though - on your own I mean? And what about hip carrying?

Back carrying takes practise but you'll soon be an expert.
I have one I'd sell for £20 inc P&P if interested.

I can't get it on my back without help but maybe with more practise
Have not tried hip carrying with it yet
£20 is a great price. I paid £25 for mine from Ebay

Horsemadgirl, we posted on another sling/wrap thread re the Hugabub. What colour is your Wilkinet? Thanks

NineUnlikelyTales · 21/05/2007 14:36

I like my wilkinet, though DS is not keen on the back carrying and weighs far too much to go on the front now really (but I still do anyway..anyone have a new back for sale?). £20 is a good price.

And wilkinets don't wear out; unlike slings with plastic buckles etc. I loved mine; it was passed down to me, then I gave it away having used it to carry all 3 dcs (in turn, not together...)

Didn't use it for back carrying, though.

Magnolia, you do need to make sure you're wearing it high enough; if your baby is down too low your back will ache.

MerryMarigold · 21/05/2007 15:02

hey twinkle. i will glady sell you mine.

i didn't think much of it and would prefer to get a different one next time. it is blue stripey denim-ish fabric. i got it second-hand so this is third hand but you can have it for a tenner plus postage if you want...

magnolia1 · 21/05/2007 15:22

Saint, I try to get it as high as possibel, Its my shoulders that ache more than my back, Is it easier on the hip?

Twinklemegan · 21/05/2007 22:26

Thanks everyone - I'll have Wilkinets coming out of my ears at this rate! We're on a pretty tight budget at the mo hence my cheapskate tendencies on ebay.

MerryMarigold - why didn't you think much of it? I'm sorely tempted by your offer, but the other lady has come back to me now as well - is it in good nick?
