I sat with my mouth open in disbelief when i saw this advert on tv. What exactly is the point of the stuff

pinkspottywellies · 19/05/2007 15:23

I sat with my mouth open in amazement when I saw the ad. I want to try some! Looks like great fun!

Whizzz · 19/05/2007 15:32

I want to know if any MNetters will own up to buying any!

cornsilk · 19/05/2007 15:32

I bought it!
It's like glue and won't come out of their hair.

PandaG · 19/05/2007 15:33

what is it?

colditz · 19/05/2007 15:43

I was snarling at the way it is said, atually, I have told ds it doesn't existin this country.

But he has speech problems and the last thing he needs is encouragement to say it wrong!

what is it?
not everyone is in the UK you know!!

DimpledThighs · 19/05/2007 16:04

NN it is this kind of vileness that is advertised - you sprinkle this powder into the bath and it turns the water into coloured 'goo' - consistency of um - kind of yoghurt I guess. Then you sprinkle stuff in to turn it back to water. Childrene ntranced parents enraged.

Nightynight · 19/05/2007 16:12

yuck!

Whizzz · 19/05/2007 16:14

I particularly hate it as it makes kids say 'baff' rather than 'bath'

Seona1973 · 19/05/2007 19:57

there is even a gellibaff website

Twiglett · 19/05/2007 20:01

actually we used it once its in hawkins bazaar .. haven't seen the ad though

DS loved it (6)

DD hated it (3)

its just a giggle .. I wouldn't use it for a bath though just for a play .. and they had to have a shower afterwards

don't think kids need encouragement to bath normally at least mine don't

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 20:01

er
second sachet does NOT turn it back into water, despite what packet says. it just takes colour out.

and it is NOT good for septic tanks.

you are warned!

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 20:03

ditto twig (hawkins bazaaar, not seen ad.) except mine all loved it.

so did the septic tank people i had tp pay to flush the damn thing out.

Twiglett · 19/05/2007 20:04

our solvent worked

Twiglett · 19/05/2007 20:05

what's a setic tank got to do with your bath?

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 20:08

bath water runs down the plug, through a drain, out to septic tank. (and then onto a soakaway for the liquid, solids stay and are dissolved by bacteria - can you tell i got a lecture from the tank man??) solvent stuff did not infact, dissolve stuff. when water drained out of it, it turned ito one big pipe blocking gloopy mess.

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 20:09

i would do it again but in a padling pool in the garden. not into my drains again.

Twiglett · 19/05/2007 20:14

do all houses have a septic tank then?

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 21:34

lol!
are you serious??

where o you live twig? if you are in rural parts, you prob have a tank. if not, ten you are prob on mains and would likely takemore than a jellibaff to block your drains. hopefully.

Twiglett · 19/05/2007 23:36

oi'm in larndarn innit

but I leave stuff like septic tanks and drains to the menfolk and don't bother my pretty little head about it

NappiesGalore · 19/05/2007 23:45

lol! no dear, you don ave yanks in landon. yer on the mains innit.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 20/05/2007 00:00

DD2 who is 3 says " Urrrrgggghhhhh, disgusting" when the advert comes on. What is the point? It's just revolting.

My BIL asked me to order two sets of it for his (spoilt rotten) DD cos they live in Ireland and couldn't get it delivered. Fifty farking quidsworth!

NappiesGalore · 20/05/2007 00:29
