Poddle Pod

Archer loves his Poddle Pod! It has been a life saver! We love it that much, I've been given my own discount code 😂 It's given me some freedom as he always wanted to be held constantly, so it's been fab for getting things done around the house as he settles in it so easily as it cuddles him like I would!
It was originally designed for babies with reflux but we use it for naps, chilling out, tummy time, nappy changes (as he can't wriggle as much) and it's been great to take to my mums as it's lightweight comes with a carry bag plus it smells familiar to him so he settles pretty much anywhere!
I chose it over the sleepy head as it's significantly cheaper & comes in two sizes, but personally I'd go straight to the toddlepod (6 months plus) as you will get a lot longer out of it as my Archer is a chunky baby! Plus they have loads of cute designs!!
"HK10" is a long term discount code for 10% off www.poddlepod.com plus they have free delivery at the minute too which saves you an extra £4.99!
Honestly can't recommend it enough so feel free to ask any questions 🙂

Hi, Charlotte.

They are brilliant tbh. Had 1 for dc3, gifted by dmil. Moses baskets are expensive and were seriously disliked by older 2dc. Anyone I know who’s had a poddle pod loves them.

mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 00:59

Just thought I would share the discount code as you've got to love a bit of discount! Plus if it helps another mum out then great, as it was recommended to me by a friend too 🙂

Well, yes. It’s cheaper than the sleepyhead because it isn’t as safe.....

mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 01:46

How so? They state that they're used in NHS hospitals in NICU units so i assumed that they're safe?

It states on their website they can’t be used unsupervised. So what is the point? You may as well hold your baby.

mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 06:54

They were designed for babies with reflux, fortunately I haven't had that issue. I was recommended them as my baby wanted to be constantly held, which he now enjoys lying in his pod. Obviously neither of these two things you can help with just being held 🙂

We love it that much, I've been given my own discount code 😂

What are you like eh? Classic mumofarcher.

PlateOfBiscuits · 03/05/2018 07:05

I thought your DS was called Deacon...

GinIsIn · 03/05/2018 07:18

They aren’t suitable for overnight sleeping, which the sleepyhead is. They can only be used under supervision. In hospital babies have 15 min obs.

mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 07:34

That's fair enough, although I never recommended it for that reason 🙂

OP posts:
mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 07:37

Also I don't know where the name Deacon was mentioned 🤔

OP posts:
GinIsIn · 03/05/2018 08:59

But what’s the point of it? If you can’t leave them unattended, what is it for?

mumofarcher · 03/05/2018 09:15

As with many products like play mats, toys in general and even sleepyheads, state that they should be used in a supervised environment. As I stated in previous comments, I've used it because my baby wouldn't fall asleep without being held, so for me that's the point of the Poddle Pod. For someone else, it helped ease reflux, that's their point of use. This post is here as it's a product I would recommend, if it's not allowed then I'm sure a moderator will come along and remove it.

Hi.
My daughter has bought this product, choosing it instead of the more expensive sleepy head. She wanted it for baby to lie down in, so she could keep her near and not trudge up and down the stairs.
What is the controversy please?

mumofarcher · 10/05/2018 17:40

I think people seem to think that the Poddle Pod and the sleepyhead are the exact same product and they're not. Most people's concern is the sleeping over night, which it's not recommended for, simply because the Poddle Pod has a hammocked centre rather than a flat surface. The sleepyhead is flat but it's still not recommended by the lullaby trust as a safe place to sleep, as they recommend a flat empty space. That's the only comment I've seen about it online. Any other questions? ☺️

I loved the poddle pod and for me it was honestly a life saver when my daughter just would not settle apart from being as close to me as possible. It's not a necessity but the poddle pod and a baby wrap worked wonders for me ;)

Londoner999 · 22/07/2018 23:55

I'd go for the Sleepyhead anyday, it's worth the expense. It's air permeable and therefore allows air to circulate around the baby. I think PoddlePods don't, do they?
