Can anyone recommend a great all round food processor?

They all come with so many attachments-which are the best and most useful?

Bump...(sammysam - I assume you've got one now?)

bump.

Jeez...Is no one interested in this thrilling topic??

Ignore gadgets and go for quality of motor. Magimix are really good (quiet, powerful motors, last for ever and are designed to be fixed rather than thrown away if/when they do wear out)

Try this one or it's cheaper cousins.

i like my Cuisinart!

it's just a food processor and nothing else.

SpawnChorus · 06/12/2007 21:43

Thank you both so much for replying (was beginning to wonder if this was a taboo topic on MN haha )

Have been browsing Magimixes....was kind of surprised about how much they cost (and gutted that I took my Mum's old one to Oxfam several years ago....doh)

Expat - I'm going to force a ((((hug))) on you. We haven't really crossed paths before because I lurk more than post, but you've been on my mind a lot recently. You've had such a bloody rough ride. I bet there are an awful lot of other lurky-type folk like me out there who are wishing you lots of peace and happiness.

stealthsquiggle · 06/12/2007 21:46

They cost that much because they last a lot longer - cuisinart also good, I have heard (but don't have one). Think v. hard about large collections of gadgets - you will very rarely use most of them and will have to find somewhere to store them all!

SpawnChorus · 06/12/2007 21:48

I def don;t want lots of gadgets - don;t have the space! Am off to google Cuisinart

expatinscotland · 06/12/2007 22:39

((Cuddles))

I like the Cuisinart precisely because it does have any extras on it - just the food processor - and because it was still a reasonable cost.

It was about £100 when I got it several years ago and still going strong, touch wood.

My mother has one that's been going strong for over 20 years.

That's really helpful Thank you!
