Advice on buggy boards please for 3 wheelers

Does anyone know if you can fit a buggy board onto a Mothercare 3 wheeler (one of the ones with the larger wheels)?

I'm expecting number 2 in September and as dd1 will be nearly 2.5 years old I'm hoping she'll ride on a buggy board so I won't have to buy a double buggy. However, I'm not sure if I could fit one to my 3 wheeler and my other pushchair is a Maclaren Vogue stroller and it really doesn't lie very flat at all, so I can't see using it for the new baby until they're nearer 3 months old (my 3 wheeler lies reasonably flat - it's quite a comfy one, so think I'd be happy putting the baby in there).

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Have just bought a Universal Buggy Board (got it from kiddicare.com) for my Mothercare Urban Detour. Fits fine (I think) - just waiting to put it into use.

Thanks Dinny & Jellyhead. I think my Mothercare is a Pinnacle or something. I have to say I was worried about the handle, as if the buggyboard was far enough back to be clear of the handle then it would be miles away from the pushchair - didn't seem feasible. I didn't think that the toddler could stand with their head in the middle of the handle, but I could see it might work in that case.

Distracted, recline the seat fully (as for newborn) then put a loo step/yellow pages behind and get your toddler to stand on it to see if there's enough room (ie. if they can fit within handle).

The manufacturers recommend the toddler stands within the handle, not behind it (according to woman at Cheeky Rascals, the UK stockists for the Universal Buggyboard - they have a website www.cheekyrascals.co.uk)

Recommend you see if you can try your toddler on a buggyboard first... I had DD when DS was rising 2.5 and had pinned my hopes on a buggyboard. A friend lent me one and 3 months later DS still will not ride on it - he's absolutely terrified of it despite my attempts to tell him it's just like a skateboard! Glad I didn't waste £50 on one. Still, am managing OK without a double buggy, I just make him walk, though most trips are tortuously slow and with a lot of "Mummy, I too tired for all dis walkin". Sometimes he hops on the footrest bit of the 3 wheeler (a Jane) and that works OK.

Dinny that's a really useful tip thanks, I will try that before I order one.

Lulupop, that's rather worrying. Don't think I know anyone I can borrow a buggyboard from to try, I hadn't really considered dd refusing to use it! Although had worried what we would do if she really wanted to sit down rather than stand, or have a sleep. She would never be able to walk far enough to rely on doing that. I know I have at some point seen a sit on buggy board, like a step so they stand on the bottom bit or sit on the top bit, but I'm sure that would be less likely to fit a 3-wheeler (and can't remember now where I saw it).

Distracted, the seat you mean is called the Seat2Go (try Google search for it). Someone on Mumsnet said it did fit Mothercare 3 wheelers. Not sure though.

I'm going to take the sling everywhere we go so if dd1 gets fed up with the buggy board and wants to sit in buggy, the baby can go in the sling.

My local shop gave me the phone number for the manafacturers. Sorry I don't have it any more, but a very helpful lady looked up my buggy on the computer to tell me weather it would fit or not.
