I have read rave reviews on other sites but lots of negative comments here!

Anyone love their Loola?

I've been really pleased with mine. And I haven't seen any other buggies and thought 'I'd rather have that'

The only niggle I have with it is that the carrying basket underneath isn't very accessible. You can get stuff in but it's awkward. However that probably not one of the most important things when considering what buggy to get

sadiemcgrady · 10/05/2007 21:35

Yes, I thought the basket looked a bit awkward. I know you're not supposed to, but I thought you can always hang bags from the handles?

I love mine!

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2007 21:36

wanted one for the name which is so cute, but heard they are a bit wider than other buggies. tbh, buggies are such a pain, i wouldn't go for one which is wider than necessary.

ThisTime · 10/05/2007 21:37

Yes I loved mine - although I am selling it but due to getting a small folding stroller for the train.

I would definitely get another if I had another child.

sarahlou1uk · 10/05/2007 21:37

I love mine! Agree re the shopping basket though - I just keep the raincover in mine and hang the shopping on the handles! Could be a bit lighter as well but it is a really good pushchair! Got mine in rearward facing mode at minute and dd thinks it's great! Thumbs up from me and highly recommended.

Ceolas · 10/05/2007 21:37

I am thinking about one of these, but Misdee keeps telling me it's really heavy!

ChasingSquirrels · 10/05/2007 21:38

the ingeslina otutto is definately worth looking at if you are considering a loola

Ceolas · 10/05/2007 21:42

The inglesina is even heavier than the Loola. Never seen one in the flesh though.

sadiemcgrady · 10/05/2007 22:11

Is the seat really suitable for a newborn? Saleslady said yes. The carrycot looks very small for such a short period, but I wasn't convinced.

sarahlou1uk · 10/05/2007 22:13

Wouldn't use the seat unit for newborn until 3 months old. Doesn't lie completely flat - just at a very slight angle. Carrycot perfectly fine for 3 months.

allieBongo · 10/05/2007 22:15

my sister has one and loves it, however, I think it is a heavy, clumpy old dinosaur...

sadiemcgrady · 10/05/2007 22:18

I think if you compare it to a Maclaren it's heavy.

But compared with a big 3 in 1 it's lightweight.

It's in between the two really. And at 10kg it's just a kg heavier than the M&P pramette which is marketed as being so lightweight

OP posts:
Ceolas · 10/05/2007 22:43

It certainly feels a bit heavier than the pramette. Have looked at both of these.

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 09:59

If you are thinking of a Loola, Glasgow Pram Centre have them for £189 at the moment which seems quite good. Car seat is £85. Not sure about the carrycot.

sadiemcgrady · 11/05/2007 10:47

Ceolas, the GPC website has it for £329.99? . Is that for the whole package?

AnAngelWithin · 11/05/2007 10:53

i love my loola. i got the limited edition camelia pink one. I adore it. admittedly the basket is a bit awkward but tbh i dont tend to use it that much anyway! got mine from nurseryandtoys.com I am a pramaholic but this is defo my favourite one. I have had it for 10 months now and not even thought about replacing it. was debating getting a mountain buggy for the dog walking but i am refusing to sell my loola now!!

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 11:09

Definitely seems to be a love it or hate it pram!

ChasingSquirrels · 11/05/2007 12:06

no for newborns.
I thought the otutto was lighter, but not looked in detail. But it seems to fold ALOT easier, and had a bar rather than 2 handles.

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 13:06

I had the same question about the seat unit and newborns. Mothercare said no, Pram Centre said yes. I phoned Dorel who distribute in the UK and they said bebconfort say yes.

Chiqita · 11/05/2007 16:26

If that matters to anyone, Infanta Leonor (baby daughter of the future king of Spain) is riding in a pink Loola

www.paraelbebe.net/paseo/2006/11/loola-el-cochecito-de-la-infanta-leonor/

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 17:10

Well that seals it then, Chiqita

ChasingSquirrels · 11/05/2007 17:21

Bebeconfort DOES say yes, their literature says yes - but when you LOOK at it, common sense says NO NO NO.

Ceolas · 11/05/2007 17:51

I couldn't bear to fork out for a carrycot too. And it wouldn't go in the car anyway. Only considering the Loola (or Pramette) as the 'big' pram won't fit in the car with 4 children and 4 car seats. Well, not without a considerable squeeze

Pannacotta · 11/05/2007 17:56

We used our Loola with the seat no carrycot for our DS when he was newborn. It goes v close to flat and he seemed v comfy and snug and slept well in it. It isn't like a car seat which is quite curved, it's almost 90 degrees reclined so IMO it's fine.
I really like the fact you can have the seat facing you, much more friendly and better apparently for Los speech development (not surprisingly).
