I have that highchair, it's fab. Has the price risen by a shocking amount though? I have a feeling I paid about £27 for it this time last year.

wurlywurly · 09/05/2007 10:59

better stil mys SIL work in there so anything we want she get 20% discount on

CarGirl · 09/05/2007 11:02

Can anyone tell me how high the metal rod across the front is off the floor please as I have a pedestal table and not sure it will fit.

bran · 09/05/2007 11:10

CarGirl, I've just measured it (with ds' Bob the Builder retractable measuring tape which I hope is accurate), and it's 12.5 cm off the ground. And it's about 5cm in front of the front edge of the seat, so it probably won't need to extend very far under your table.

suejonez · 09/05/2007 11:14

has anyone tried the toddler sleeping bag, its so cheap I'm tempted to buy one and keep it as its probably going to be too big this summer. I assume it is a summer weight one? Wurly could you SIL find out the TOG rating - I'm surprised they don;t mention it.

wurlywurly · 09/05/2007 11:15

sue will ask her for you

thanks Wurly

hockeypuck · 09/05/2007 11:56

yes bran the highchair was 25 last year. We have one but it isn't as good as the babydan one we got from kiddicare for £45 so now it's gone up to £35 I wouldn't say it's worth it. It tips quite easily which is pretty impossible to do with the BabyDan one.

The sleeping bags are great though. They do not say the TOG on, but they are 1 tog imo, they may even be slightly thinner than the 1 tog gorbag one I have now that I've compared the 2.

munz · 09/05/2007 11:58

sheets have gone up since last year as well 50% infact.

AitchTwoOh · 09/05/2007 12:01

the babydan one seems to be £60 on kiddicare.

bran · 09/05/2007 12:29

I used one of those for ds Sue, and it was very good. I would say that up to 3 years is a bit optomistic if you have a tall child though and probably Daniel would be able to use it this summer as I'm pretty sure that ds used it from about 12 months. The zip on the side thing also works much better than the zip on the front.

suejonez · 09/05/2007 13:05

thanks Bran, he is quite wee (about 50% on the 14 month charts) so he may be able to use it for a while yet. My only concern is that the straps look a bit easy to unpopper. He hasn;t actually tried to get out of one yet but it's probably not far off!

bran · 09/05/2007 13:48

DS never unpopped the poppers, but he's not much of an escape artist. Actually, we very rarely unpopped the poppers so you could sew the straps down if you need to. We used to undo the zip (not all the way, just to the corner) and then pop it over his head like a sleeveless top, then he would either step into the bag to be zipped up or we would sit/lie him down and zip him up.

DS is about 50th centile on the charts too (up from 9th when we got him) when we go and it just fit him until he went into a big-boy's bed when he was about 2.9 yrs.

How is your ds? He was about the same age when you got him as ds was when we got him (10.5 months), so it makes me the adoption equivalent of broody sometimes when I see your posts about him as I remember the early days.

MrsBadger · 09/05/2007 14:16

apparently the sleeping bag is 3 tog

MrsBadger · 09/05/2007 14:17

just realsied you meant the toddler one

suejonez · 09/05/2007 16:03

thanks for the thought though MrsB!

Oh Bran he's just so lovely, we're having a bit of a honeymoon period at the moment. You know, after the inital stress of getting them, before you have become blase about it (assuming you do!). He is a happy boy full of character and a monster temper - 17 months now (14 months adjusted) and walking up a storm and babbling for England (should that be Kazakhstan?).

divamumplusbump · 09/05/2007 17:26

yes, high chair is defo recommended. will probably get some sleeping bag this time.

Standard Grobags are 2.5 tog I think

SoupDragon · 09/05/2007 19:06

BabyDragon has the highchair too, thanks to Mumsnet.

SoupDragon · 09/05/2007 19:12

The waterway looks good. And the sandpit set.

We've got the trainset too, that's good but seems to be a lot more expensive this year.

Unfortunately I had my credit card cloned today so I can't buy anything. Bah!

suejonez · 09/05/2007 22:04

OK - ordered 2 sleepsuits and the sheets - was tempted by lots more but the bank manager went white.

CarGirl · 10/05/2007 14:29

thanks for the measurements - higher than the trip trapp so I may just get 2 for the youngest dds so we will actually have enough chairs to sit on when we have dinner guests!

bran · 10/05/2007 22:58

He sounds so sweet Sue. You had a much longer adjustment period, being stuck out in Kazakhstan for so long. At least we only had a stressful week long hand-over period and then we were in our own home. I really enjoyed that toddling stage, especially the Frankenstein's moster stage with the hands out in front for balance and a side to side walk.

Some friends of friends of ours got stuck in India recently. There was some accusation of corruption at the orphanage apparently and they weren't allowed to release any children while the investigation was on-going. They were waiting for months and months I think, visiting every day but having to leave their child in the orphanage at the end of each day.
